“My youngest daughter Aira Asim has peacefully passed away"
Popular fashion designer Asim Jofa has revealed that his youngest daughter has passed away following a short illness.
Aira Asim was admitted to hospital in London after suddenly falling ill but unfortunately, she was unable to recover.
Asim shared the sad news on his Facebook page with his fans and said:
“Inna Lilahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’oon [To Allah we belong and to Him we must return].
“My youngest daughter Aira Asim has peacefully passed away in London after a few days of being admitted to hospital and fighting for her life.
“She had suffered a sudden brain haemorrhage. Please make dua for her maghfirat [passing] and that she reaches the highest rank in Jannah [heaven].
“We only need your prayers for her and us during this difficult time.”
Friends from the showbiz industry left messages of condolences under Asim’s post.
Sabrina Soorty wrote: “I’m so sorry to hear this. Please hang in there.
“May God give you strength and your child a peaceful journey to heaven. Please accept my condolences.”
Mohib Mirza added: “I am so sorry bhai [brother]. I can’t imagine the sorrow and pain you are going through. My prayers and deepest condolences.”
Adnan Ansari said: “Very sorry to hear this devastating news. May Allah give you guys Sabr [patience].”
Mansha Pasha commented: “So sorry to hear this Asim. I have been praying for you all. May Allah rest her soul and give the family strength.”
Muneeb Butt said the loss was heart-breaking while singer Shiraz Uppal offered a prayer of courage to bear with the irreplaceable loss.
Asim Jofa is a well-established fashion designer from Pakistan and is famous for his elegant outfit designs.
Alongside fashion design, Asim has tried his hand at jewellery design and quickly became recognised for his exquisite jewellery pieces that he showcases with his clothes.
He is recognised nationally and internationally for his work and has featured on many runways across the globe.
In 2012, Asim Jofa was awarded the International Asian Fashion Awards for Best Designer Brand, and later that same year, he won the Collection of the Year Award at the Pakistan Fashion Awards.
Just recently, Asim announced his Spring/Summer collection on Instagram which is due to release on January 5, 2024, and it is understood that singer Aima Baig will be modelling his latest collection.
