"Omg they are having twins"
Rumours are rife that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are expecting twins.
The couple announced that they were expecting their first child in June 2022.
Alia shared a picture from their ultrasound appointment.
She was lying on the bed while Ranbir was sitting next to her with his back to the camera as they both looked at the screen.
The post was simply captioned: “Our baby….. coming soon.”
The pregnancy announcement garnered a lot of attention and now there is speculation that the couple are actually having twins.
This came after Ranbir played a game in which he had to tell two facts and one lie about himself.
The actor is currently promoting Shamshera and as part of the game, he said:
“I am having twins, I am going to be part of a very big mythological film, I am taking a long break from work.”
His comment had fans wondering which statement was a lie.
Social media users knew that he was telling the truth about his mythological film as he will soon be seen in Brahmastra.
Fans then began to think whether Ranbir had just hinted at having twins, with some pointing out that he has just returned to acting after a long break.
One person said: “I am gonna take a long break is definitely a lie. I mean his last movie was released in 2018 it’s 2022 now.”
Another said: “Long break from work looks a lie as he has just returned.
“Moreover he has 2 more movies after Brahmastra (Animal and Luv Ranjan’s Romcom). Moreover, Brahmastra 2 & 3 also in line. Producers won’t stop until 2032.”
A third wrote: “Omg they are having twins guysss that’s the true one.”
One observant netizen believed that they are having twins, stating that Alia is already showing a baby bump despite being early into her pregnancy.
“They might actually be having twins because Alia is early into her pregnancy and showing too much (I do know that short women show earlier than taller ones) but the sudden belly growth did make me curious.”
The ongoing speculation led Ranbir Kapoor to respond.
He said: “Don’t create controversy. They asked me to state three things: two truths and a lie.
“Now I can’t reveal what is the truth, and what is the lie.”
Despite Ranbir stating that his comments were part of a game, he did not explicitly deny the rumours. So, it will be interesting to see what the actual lie was.
On the work front, Ranbir will next be seen in Shamshera where he will play a double role.
Meanwhile, Alia will star in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and will also make her Hollywood debut in Heart Of Stone, co-starring Gal Gadot.
Both Alia and Ranbir will star in Brahmastra, which will release on September 9, 2022.
