“I am just so so happy for Ranbir and Alia"
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are expecting their first child together.
The actress, who is currently in London shooting for her Hollywood film Heart Of Stone, took to Instagram to announce her pregnancy news.
Alia shared a picture from their ultrasound appointment.
Alia was lying on the bed while Ranbir was sitting next to her with his back to the camera as they both looked at the screen.
The post was simply captioned: “Our baby….. coming soon.”
Alia also highlighted their love for nature by including a picture of a lion and lioness with their cub.

Alia’s pregnancy announcement comes just over two months after the couple got married at their Bandra home.
Ranbir and Alia got married in a private ceremony on April 14, 2022, in front of their family and close friends.
Alia’s father Mahesh Bhatt confirmed the news and expressed his excitement at becoming a grandfather soon.
The filmmaker said: “Ah, my baby is going to have a baby!
“I am so happy for Ranbir and Alia. May our ‘tribe’ increase.
“And now I have to prepare for the most important role of my life: The role of a Grandfather. This is going to be a grand debut.”
Her mother Soni Razdan was also overwhelmed with emotion.
She said: “We are overjoyed and overwhelmed. Words really don’t do justice to this moment.
“I am just so so happy for Ranbir and Alia and for all of us.
“There is nothing greater or more profound in this world than bringing another life into it.”
Fellow celebrities sent their messages of congratulations to the couple.
Karan Johar said that his “heart is bursting” at the news.
Priyanka Chopra, who became a mother earlier in 2022, said:
“Congratulations honey!! Yaaaaay! Can’t wait.”
Ishaan Khatter wrote: “Oh wowwww congrats you two.”
Parineeti Chopra commented: “Congrats lovers.”
While the news has come as a surprise to many, it now seems that Ranbir hinted at a baby on its way during his Shamshera promotions.
When asked about how much more work he will do post-marriage, he said that he wanted to start a family and will also have the chance to do lots of work.
