Fans are wondering if a grand Desi celebration could be next.
Love Island winners Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan have sparked speculation about a Desi-style wedding after appearing together at a star-studded Diwali event hosted by L’Oréal Paris.
The couple, who tied the knot two years after meeting on the ITV dating show, turned heads with their stunning South Asian outfits and captivating chemistry.
Sanam shared a Reel from the event with her 447,000 Instagram followers, showing her and Kai posing joyfully for the camera.
She dazzled in a sparkly red lehenga by Nikaza Asian Couture, while Kai complemented her look in a navy-blue jacket-style sherwani adorned with intricate embellishments.
In her caption, Sanam teased fans by writing: “Got two feelings… 1 – Royalty 2 – Second wedding,” hinting that another celebration may be on the horizon.
The post quickly fuelled excitement among followers who wondered whether the couple plan to have a traditional Desi ceremony to honour Sanam’s Indo-Caribbean roots.
Sanam has previously spoken about her mixed heritage and how Love Island helped her reconnect with her cultural identity.
Speaking to OK! in August 2023, she revealed: “I only really started to look into my heritage when I was on Love Island, when people started to question if I was Indian or Caribbean.
“People didn’t understand what Indo-Caribbean was, but I was starting to see so many positive comments from girls who finally felt represented.”
Sanam has also discussed experiencing an identity crisis growing up, feeling caught between Indian and Caribbean cultures.
However, she found a sense of belonging with others who share her background and has since embraced both sides of her heritage.
“My mum was so excited for me when I told her I’d be dressing in modern embellished lehengas and jewelled tops,” she said.
After Love Island, the pair’s relationship blossomed beyond the villa.

Kai famously recoupled with Sanam during Casa Amor, ending things with his previous partner, Olivia Hawkins.
That decision led to one of the show’s most memorable love stories, culminating in Kai and Sanam becoming the first couple of colour to win the dating series and claim the £50,000 prize.
Kai proposed in April 2024 during a romantic boat trip in Cambridge.
Sharing the moment online, he wrote: “Introducing the next Mrs Fagan.
“Beautiful, caring, loving and smart are just some of the words that describe you.
“I love loving you, I love you and can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Their wedding was an intimate affair filled with love and laughter.
The ceremony marked another milestone for the couple, who continue to inspire fans with their authenticity and affection.
Now, with Sanam hinting at a “second wedding,” fans are wondering if a grand Desi celebration could be next.
Whether or not a Desi wedding is on the cards, one thing is certain: Kai and Sanam’s love story continues to captivate fans who have followed their journey from the Love Island villa to wedded bliss.
