"We just sort of cracked on with each other."
Love Island‘s Kai Fagan has sent fans wild after sharing a snap of girlfriend Sanam Harrinanan wearing a silver band on her ring finger.
The couple, who won the show’s winter series in March 2023, revealed they ‘made a promise’ to each other – leading followers to speculate they were engaged.
In the snap, Sanam looked gorgeous in a busty blue bodice as she held out the sparkler for the camera and flashed a huge smile.
The pair then cuddled up for a cute snap with Kai captioning the post ‘A promise’ with a ring emoji.
Kai clarified it was only a promise ring, but teased that an engagement could still be on the cards, saying:
“Btw guys it’s a promise ring! The big one will come soon dw.”
Followers rushed to the comments section with one asking: “Wait are they engaged?”
Sanam later reposted the snap saying: “Actually got that promise ring, why is he so cute.”
It comes after Kai and Sanam revealed they haven’t had many opportunities since Love Island.
Speaking in a new YouTube video, Kai and Sanam answered multiple fans, who asked why they were never seen on daytime TV or photoshoots when they left the Love Island villa.
Kai admitted: “We don’t know. We have no answer to that.
“We don’t really know why all previous Love Island winners before us, and even after us, were afforded such opportunities.
“We can’t explain why – there’s no justification for it. I feel like since we’ve come out of the villa, all we’ve done is spend time with each other, build our relationship.”
Sanam added: “We just sort of cracked on with each other and our families.
“We found a home together, built our home together.
“Of course, it would be amazing to be on the same level as others who have done what you’ve done, but at the same time we’re focusing on ourselves.”
Elsewhere in the YouTube video, Kai said: “We represented a lot of people.
“Sanam’s Indo-Caribbean, I’m mixed white and Caribbean – my dad’s side are from Jamaica, my mum’s side are English.
“I feel like we literally represent the diversity of the country here, that’s something to be celebrating about.”
Sanam and Kai became the first non-white couple to win the show in Love Island‘s ten-year run after they connected during the Casa Amor loyalty test.
According to voting figures released by ITV, Kai and Sanam secured a massive 44% of the public vote.
They also made history by Sanam being the only Casa Amor bombshell to go all the way in the competition after viewers fell in love with the pair.
