Anushka Sharma, one of the most popular Indian actresses, is widely known for her outstanding acting skills, incredible dancing abilities, and her talent for mimicking different accents.
During an interview, she surprised the audience by displaying her impressive English accent.
Recently, an old video of the interview resurfaced, rekindling people’s fascination with her impressive abilities.
The video dates back to 2017 when Anushka was promoting her film, Phillauri.
Her co-star in the movie, Suraj Sharma, who played the role of Kanan, was with her during the interview.
Anushka revealed how Suraj came on board for the film, mentioning her expectation that he wouldn’t speak Hindi.
In the video, Anushka speaks with a flawless English accent, and Suraj joins her in the accent, saying:
“Yeah, yeah. We flip over.”
She explained: “Sometimes when we go on set and break into an accent, it’s self-entertainment actually.
“I am a big believer that you have to be able to entertain yourself, and I am constantly doing that. My new fad is actually Snapchat.”
The video shows glimpses of the people watching the interview live, laughing at Anushka’s way of speaking.
She admits: “And, I am addicted to it (Snapchat).
“I am driving my manager crazy because she thinks that I am overdoing it.
“And, she thinks I am exposing myself… I am like ‘What’s there to expose?’
“And, I also feel that when I start talking like this, I feel like a different person. I feel like I can say a lot more than I usually do.”

Suraj responds to Anushka in the same accent after the interviewer interrupts her.
The video has recently been shared online, and many people have praised Anushka’s accent.
One commenter wrote: “She’s done it so well. There are different types of accents in the UK, and not all people talk the same way. She’s done it brilliantly.”
Another person who has lived in Britain for the last 15 years added:
“I feel she has done a very good job. It’s just like the British accent.”
Some even compared her to Emily from Friends, a character known for her posh English accent.
Currently, Anushka is gearing up for her upcoming film, Chakda Xpress, directed by Prosit Roy.
The film tells the inspiring story of cricketer Jhulan Goswami.
