Shehnaaz Gill has revealed that the Punjabi film industry has “cut her off completely”, recalling a moment that left her in tears.

She made her Punjabi acting debut in 2017’s Sat Shri Akaal England.

Shehnaaz went on to become a household name in Bigg Boss 13. She worked in the likes of Kala Shah Kala, Daaka and Honsla Rakh.

Shehnaaz is now set to make her Bollywood debut in Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which releases on April 21, 2023.

Although she is a popular figure in the Punjabi entertainment industry, Shehnaaz Gill revealed that she has been “cut off” by the film industry.

Without naming the film, Shehnaaz explained that she was not invited to her own film’s premiere, leaving her in tears.

During an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Shehnaaz was asked about two unforgettable moments when she experienced struggle.

Shehnaaz explained: For my Punjabi film’s premiere, everyone was called, but not me.

“They asked me to come and then cancelled.

“After watching the film, I saw the cast posing for photographers as I left the theatre.

“I remember crying as I sat in my car, wondering why was I not called when everyone else was.”

She stated that the Punjabi film industry has cut her off but has no issues with it.

Shehnaaz continued: “I have struggled a lot. Punjabi film industry had cut me off completely.

“But as they say ‘Those who have no one, have God’. I have God. It is all Karma.”

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan sees Shehnaaz Gill play Sukoon.

The film also stars Pooja Hegde, Bhumika Chawla, Raghav Juyal, Palak Tiwari and Jassie Gill.

Meanwhile, Jassie has hinted that he will work with Shehnaaz again.

He said: “Since I was in Bigg Boss, fans of Shehnaaz have been messaging me that we both look good together, and you guys should work more.

“So, we planned a song called ‘Keh Gayi Sorry’, and we had just released the teaser and the audio, and we were supposed to shoot for the video, but it couldn’t happen and the reason was lockdown.

“My family stays in Canada, so at that time I went there and when I came back after 6-7 months, I and Shehnaaz both got busy. So, that’s why the song couldn’t happen.

“But, we are planning something, we will come together soon.

“You know she is Gill and even I am Gill. But, it was already decided that I and Palak will be opposite each other.”
