The protagonist must abandon his law-abiding facade.

Anil Kapoor is set to return to the screen in the gritty, high-octane action film Subedaar.

The official trailer for this highly anticipated project was unveiled during a grand ceremony in Mumbai on February 23, 2026.

Directed by Suresh Triveni, the movie features Kapoor as Arjun Maurya, a retired army officer living in rural Rajasthan.

The plot follows a former soldier who finds himself entangled in a lawless town dominated by brutal crime syndicates.

According to reports, the film will officially premiere on Prime Video on March 5, 2026.

The trailer introduces Arjun Maurya as a man forced to work as a chauffeur for a criminal named Prince.

Aditya Rawal portrays Prince Bhaiyya, a local figure who inflicts constant humiliation upon the ageing but resilient former officer.

As the story progresses, the protagonist must abandon his law-abiding facade to protect his own dignity and family.

One of the standout elements of the trailer is the raspy and intense voiceover provided by the lead actor.

It also showcases a grungy song that underlines the sheer grit and ferocity of the main character, Arjun.

A significant portion of the narrative focuses on the illegal sand mining operations that plague this specific heartland region.

Mona Singh makes a powerful appearance as the primary antagonist, Babli Didi, who commands a massive and violent empire.

The supporting cast includes Saurabh Shukla as Prabhakar, a loyal friend who stands by Arjun during his dangerous battle.

Faisal Malik, known for his role in Panchayat, appears as Softie Bhaiyya, a key figure in the criminal hierarchy.

The film also features Khushbu Sundar as Sudha, adding further depth to the diverse and talented ensemble of actors.

During the launch, Anil Kapoor stated:

“Playing this character has been one of the most emotionally demanding experiences of my career.”

He praised the director for his commitment to scale and authenticity while giving the actors freedom to be bold.

Suresh Triveni described the project as a tribute to the mainstream cinema he grew up with as a fan boy.

The director noted that while the film deals with civilian life, it is fundamentally a story about a father.

Arjun Maurya delivers a defining line in the trailer when he says: “I can take a bullet, but not disrespect.”

This statement signals his transformation from a quiet civilian into a one-man army seeking justice and personal honour.

Visually, Subedaar adopts a dark and earthy palette that perfectly reflects its rugged and dusty rural Rajasthan setting.

This project marks the first time that Anil Kapoor has led a film specifically made for a streaming platform.

Fans are eager to see Kapoor reinvent himself in a darker and more performance-heavy role at this stage.
