"Mr Ahuja attempted to use doctored invoices"
Sonam Kapoor’s husband Anand Ahuja is facing allegations of tax fraud, made by an international shipping company.
This resulted in a war of words between the company and the fashion entrepreneur.
It began in January 2022, when Anand tweeted about his “horrible experience” with MyUS.com.
He wrote: “Does anyone know someone at @MyUS_Shopaholic – I’ve been having HORRIBLE experience recently.
“They are holding items improperly, rejecting formal paperwork and refusing to acknowledge any reasoning.”
Sonam amplified her husband’s complaint by adding:
“Terrible customer service is shameful.”

The company responded to the tweet by accusing Anand of tax fraud, claiming he tried to use a doctored invoice.
The company wrote: “Unfortunately, this is not a customer service issue, as Mr Ahuja attempted to use doctored invoices on international shipments, which we were not able to allow.”
In a series of tweets, MyUS.com said:
“This is not a matter of customer service quality, new policies, or holding items improperly as was tweeted.
Mr Ahuja misrepresented the price he paid for sneakers purchased on eBay which would result in him paying less duties and taxes.
“The doctored invoices list prices that were up to 90% less than what he paid for the goods.”
“While our policy is to do our best to rectify any customer issues, we have a duty to uphold regulatory compliance.
“Put very simply, we have a legal obligation to provide accurate information when sending international shipments.
“Both MyUS and Mr Ahuja are subject to international export rules, and we intend to follow them.”
The allegations prompted Anand Ahuja to respond.
Shutting down the tax fraud accusations, Anand stated that the company refused to validate his PDF receipts and bank statements.
He went on to accuse the e-commerce company of trying to overcharge him and hold his goods for longer in order to earn more money.
Anand said: “You should watch your baseless slandering – you were the ones that refused to validate PDF receipts and bank statements just so you could overcharge me and hold my goods longer to earn late fees.”
He added that he has now moved all his items and closed his account with the company.
“Anyway, I have now moved all items and closed my account. Gooooood riddance!”
