He approached the trio and called them out
Teenager Aditya Tiwari was stabbed to death by a group of young men in an incident that has shocked Bihar.
In the state’s Chhapra district, the 15-year-old was stabbed multiple times after the group entered his school and attacked him in front of horrified students and teachers.
It is believed he was attacked after he stood up to the men, who had been sexually harassing female students.
According to a complaint filed by mother Anita Devi, the three accused used to make lewd remarks toward female students as they made their way to school.
The day before the stabbing, Aditya saw the three men sexually harassing one of his classmates.
He approached the trio and called them out for their behaviour.
Aditya ended up getting into a fight with main suspect Sahil. Afterwards, Sahil threatened to kill the teenager in front of his classmates.
Two hours before the stabbing on September 21, 2022, Sahil uploaded a Facebook Story which hinted that he would carry out a crime.
At 11 am, Aditya had left the classroom, having just sat a test.
The harassers, Sahil, Taif and Arshad, and four others forced their way into the school and cornered Aditya.
In front of teachers and students, Sahil stabbed Aditya several times before the seven attackers fled the scene.
Staff members rushed to help Aditya and transported him to a hospital. However, he died on the way.
As news of the murder began to circulate, locals took to the streets to demand the immediate arrests of the suspects.
Angry locals also vandalised the school building and threatened teachers.
Even though several days have passed since the murder, no arrests have been made, further angering people.
Aditya’s family and friends have taken to social media to demand justice and it has led to #JusticeForAditya trending on Twitter.
Many Twitter users have described Aditya’s bravery in standing up for his female classmates who were being sexually harassed by the suspects.
Others criticised the police for their lack of action.
According to reports, Aditya’s older brother was in the army. Aditya Tiwari also wanted to be in the army.
Due to the lack of police action, people are calling for the case to be transferred to the CBI.
It is reported that teachers at the school have stopped attending as a mark of protest against the violent murder and lack of security.
