Symron is a school teacher while Aarun works in the banking industry. Both have talked about launching a business together.

Aarun’s graphic design degree and Symron’s interest in the events industry led them to want to build a business in which they both have extensive knowledge in.

The couple have been working on BespokEvites for a few years but have recently launched their business.

What inspired you to start a business focused on custom digital Evites and event management?

Our wedding was initially planned and scheduled before the onset of Covid-19 and the subsequent lockdowns.

We had our original invitations printed and ready to distribute for the original date.

However, with the lockdown, we had to postpone the event. After rescheduling, we printed new invitations and once again prepared them for mailing to our family and friends.

This entire process led to significant inconvenience, expense, and time consumption, not to mention the environmental impact due to the paper waste generated.

This inspired us to start a business focused on digital Evites.

We realised that sending Evites with a simple click would save time and effort.

Additionally, digital Evites are much more cost-effective since edits can be made without the need for reprinting.

We found it difficult to track RSVP responses for each guest, which led us to believe that this is an important aspect to incorporate into this business.

This tool not only saves time but also ensures a smooth and stress-free experience for both hosts and their guests.

Crucially, since many people discard invitations after the event, opting for Evites reduces deforestation, conserves energy and water, and minimises air pollution.

Can you walk us through the process of creating a custom Evite? What steps are involved from start to finish?

Clients can browse our website and select an Evite from our available range.

By clicking ‘personalise’, they can choose the package that best fits their needs. The website will guide clients through the process of creating an account and completing their order.

We will then send the client a digital specification form to finalise the finer details.

Once all the necessary information is provided, our team will create the Evite and personalised website link.

Every event will come with a unique, personalised link complete with all event details, a live countdown, full RSVP tracking, guestbook and photo sharing.

If clients have their own design ideas, they can reach out to us through the ‘Contact Us’ section and we will collaborate closely to bring their vision to life.

After the event, a complimentary thank you Evite will be added to the website link page.

What are some of the biggest challenges you faced when setting up this business? How did you overcome them?

It was a challenge to have so many ideas and visions, and trying to bring them all to life proved to be more difficult than we anticipated.

“We struggled to figure out how everything would fit together and work logistically.”

After countless drafts, hitting numerous roadblocks, and making numerous adjustments along the way, we finally managed to piece it all together.

We realised nothing is ever perfect, but our priority is providing a service that continually strives for excellence, ensuring each event is seamless, personalised, and memorable.

Every Evite is a true reflection of the customer’s unique vision because we collaborate closely with our clients and take the time to thoroughly understand their design brief.

We create all Evites based on clients’ specifications using a detailed form.

For last-minute requests, such as dietary needs, guest cancellations, or other urgent matters, guests can easily reach the host through the provided contact details or by specifying their needs directly via the RSVP button.

What are your plans for future growth or expansion?

Our focus remains on future growth and development.

As an online business, we plan to expand our services globally.
