UK Asian Music Awards 2009 Winners

Jay Sean, MIA, H Dhami, Miss Pooja, DJ Vix and Rishi Rich are all winners at the annual awards event for UK Asian Music.


The 2009 UK Asian Music Awards were held at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London, on the evening of Thursday 5th March 2009. Buzzing with some of the biggest names in the Asian music and media industries, the eventful night was full of huge cheer for the winners and heart-felt commiserations for the losers.

Hailing the achievements of established and newcomer artists of the growing and popular UK Asian music scene, the awards, known as the UK AMA’s, covered the many genres of UK Asian music including Traditional Bhangra, Urban Desi and Pop. It also recognised achievements in radio and music video, and contributions by  international artists and DJ’s.

Hosted by Karen David and VJ Salil, the night included live performances by Channi Singh, Mona Singh, Amar Ft Jim Beanz (USA), Jagged Edge (USA), H Dhami, Rishi Rich, Veronica, Mumzy, Tasha Tah, Juggy D, Shahin Badar, Metz N Trix, DJ Kayper and many more.

With exclusive television rights, the B4U television Network will be beaming the televised recording of the event later this year.
