"I will kill her slowly in front of your eyes."
A woman who fell in love with a rapper on TikTok now fears he will come to kill her and her children after she rejected his proposal.
Kirandeep Saggar split from her husband in February 2023 but they continued to live together in Sydney.
Around this time, Canada-based Ranjit Bath messaged her on TikTok and they frequently chatted.
When they started talking on the phone, the Punjabi rapper became more flirtatious.
As things progressed, Kirandeep wanted him to meet her father Ravinderpal Singh.
Her father travelled from his hometown in Punjab and visited friends in Vancouver.
Whilst there, Kirandeep suggested he should meet Ranjit.
She recalled: “This meeting is so important for him to impress my dad because he knows whatever my dad will say I will go for that.”
In March 2024, Ranjit showed up unannounced on her doorstep.
They spent weeks together but Ranjit became more obsessive.
Kirandeep tried to take things slow but Ranjit allegedly tried to pressure her into signing his visa to remain in Australia.
Ranjit allegedly pressured her to divorce her husband and he demanded that she leave the house.
She said: “I said I can’t do that, I have kids, I can’t just leave my kids home and I can come and stay with you, it’s not possible.
“I tried to explain everything nicely but he didn’t want to understand, so the pressure was too much.”
Two months later, Ranjit began sending Kirandeep’s ex-husband death threats.
Kirandeep then reported him to Australian authorities, leading to his deportation in June 2024.
She said: “Even if I block his number he sent me messages from like 50 new numbers from Canada.
“Like every day it’s new numbers, I have everything in my phone, he keeps on sending me videos crying.”
Although Kirandeep reported the harassment, police said they couldn’t do anything because he was not in the country.
Ranjit tried to re-enter Australia two months later but was deported and barred from the country for three years.
In an attempt to get Kirandeep back for ignoring him and ending their relationship, he threatened to do “something which will make her cry for her whole life”.
She alleged: “He said I know how much you love your daughter and if you don’t talk to me I will come and I will kill her slowly in front of your eyes.
“I would sit on the sofa all night and just look at the door because I didn’t want anything to happen to my kids.
“I always feel, he won’t come back but he will send someone, that’s always in my mind, I can’t cope because of all these messages I feel scared, I worried what if I sleep for one second something will happen.”
Things took a dark turn on August 2, 2024, when Kirandeep received a strange text from her father. She tried to call him but he didn’t answer.
She called her brother, who lived in Punjab, India, and asked him to look for their father.
After hours of searching, Vikram was informed that their father had been strangled and his body was dumped on the side of the road.
It is alleged that Ravinderpal was murdered by Ranjit and his nephew Baljinder Singh.
Kirandeep said: “Then they threw him in the bushes, that what I heard from the police and from his nephew.”
According to Kirandeep, Ranjit told her about her father’s death via WhatsApp.
Baljinder was arrested but Ranjit remains a fugitive.
Indian authorities have ramped up efforts to capture him but his evasion has exposed glaring shortcomings in global police cooperation.
Commander Gurvinder Singh said: “We are trying to find out how he did escape and who were involved.”
However, the family suspect that Ranjit bribed his way to freedom.
Canada-based journalist Gurpreet Sahot claimed:
“It’s not about solving the murder, it’s about making money out of this.
“What will happen is they will take money off Ranjit and then present the case very weakly in front of a judge. It happens like this, often.”
However, Commander Singh denied the allegations.
Whilst on the run, Kirandeep said she continues getting daily threats from her former boyfriend, who allegedly vows to kill her and her family.
She said:
“He sent me a text message saying if he can kill one person from my family he can kill my whole family.”
Former West Vancouver Police Chief Kash Heed has warned that inaction puts Kirandeep’s life in danger.
Despite providing evidence of Ranjit’s criminal acts, she feels abandoned by the system.
Police are still looking for Ranjit and Kirandeep says she fears Ranjit will come to kill her or another family member.
She added: “He is not human, he is a monster. I just sit on the sofa all night looking at the door because I don’t want anything to happen to my kids.”
