A disturbing incident of public indecency in Karachi’s Surjani Town sparked outrage and led to a man being arrested.
Video footage showed a young man appearing to be getting changed in public.
But when a woman walks past, he pulls his bottoms down, exposing himself.
Shockingly, the man’s friends were heard cheering him on while filming the act, which quickly ignited condemnation on social media.
A user said: “These kinds of men don’t let their mothers and sisters out of their house and become nude in front of other women. Shameless people.”
One wrote: “Shame to all these males who call themselves ‘men’… they laugh just because these women don’t belong to their families.”
In response to the uproar, SSP West Tariq Elahi Mastoi took swift notice of the situation.
He directed law enforcement to take strict action against both the man involved and those who filmed the incident.
Although no formal complaint was initially filed, police arrested the suspect and launched an investigation.
The man later confessed, claiming the act was part of a “joke” with his friends and apologising for his behaviour.
He stated: “My friends were joking and accidentally pulled down my shalwar (bottoms).
“I apologise to all my mothers and sisters for this mistake. I belong to an honourable family, and this will never happen again.”
The suspect’s arrest was widely praised as a step toward ensuring accountability for acts of harassment and public indecency.

Such incidents have become an increasing source of concern in Karachi, with similar cases surfacing in recent years.
In one such case in 2023, a man was caught on video exposing himself to female university students.
They were all travelling in a van on Rashid Minhas Road.
The footage, captured by one of the students and later shared on social media, drew massive criticism and calls for action.
Additionally, in July 2023, another incident in Gulistan-e-Jauhar saw a man removing his shorts and attempting to grab a woman who was passing by.
Captured on CCTV, the footage showed the suspect parking his motorcycle before committing the indecent act.
The man fled the scene, but police registered a case on behalf of the state as the victim could not be traced.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah directed authorities to immediately arrest the culprit, highlighting the urgency of tackling such issues.
These incidents underline the growing need for stringent measures to curb public harassment and indecent behaviour.
