“Falak Shabir didn’t let us sing certain songs"

Pakistani TikTok artist Sid Rapper accused singer Falak Shabir of mistreatment during joint stage performances.

In an appearance on Suno To Sahi, hosted by Hina Niazi, Sid opened up about multiple troubling incidents.

He revealed how past experiences with well-known musicians discouraged him from investing more time in music and live shows.

Sid shared: “I gave less time to music because of a few bad incidents where artists misbehaved with us.”

According to him, Falak Shabir restricted his performance rights, even barring him from singing songs that weren’t his original work.

Sid alleged: “Falak Shabir didn’t let us sing certain songs that didn’t even belong to him.”

Technical sabotage was another issue, as Sid claimed:

“Sometimes, we even faced technical issues, like we would be singing, and the sound would suddenly be cut off.”

The rapper also claimed the on-ground hospitality was humiliating and deliberate, targeting younger performers with clear disrespect.

He said: “There were even times when they took away cups of tea that had been served to us, saying, ‘This isn’t for you’.

“This artist was insecure and didn’t want any other performers on stage.”

Insisting that the allegations were true, Sid said:

“Falak Shabir’s manager, DJ Mac, will be watching this show, so why would we lie? This actually happened to us.

“He [Falak] once called me over with my laptop, and instead of telling me which songs not to sing, he started deleting my tracks using Shift + Delete.”

Sid said the mental toll of such treatment was severe, made worse by a lack of support from families and the industry.

“We were struggling, but we never told our families because they used to call us Mirasi.”

On why he and other young musicians avoided interviews, Sid added:

“We didn’t give interviews because we didn’t have any professional support.

“I am sure more people will come forward to share their experiences after my interview.”

The TikTok star also accused singer Abrar ul Haq of conveniently distancing himself despite his viral remix of ‘Bado Badi’.

Sid alleged: “He didn’t take my name on TV, pretending that he doesn’t know me, but in fact he often talks to me on the phone.”

Sid Rapper, who has 14.1 million TikTok followers, gained fame for his energetic performances, remixes, and humorous yet informative content.

His viral ‘Bado Badi’ remix with Chahat Fateh Ali Khan and Abrar ul Haq became one of 2024’s biggest online musical hits.
