In an Instagram Q&A held with his 1.9 million followers, Falak Shabir responded to the rumours surrounding Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir’s separation.
The singer was asked about Ahad’s whereabouts and why the actor was absent from his sister-in-law Saboor Aly’s wedding festivities.
Falak, who answered many questions in regards to his wife Sarah Khan and daughter Alyana on his Instagram Story, was asked:
“Why didn’t Ahad attend Saboor’s wedding?”
Ahad’s absence from Saboor Aly’s wedding attracted the attention of netizens and has further fuelled the separation rumours surrounding the couple.
Falak Shabir responded to the question and said: “I’m praying that what people are thinking doesn’t happen. They are a very lovely couple.”
According to reports, Ahad ditched Saboor and Ali Ansari’s Mayun ceremony to attend a different wedding in Dubai.
The actor was joined by his parents Asif and Samra Raza Mir.
Ahad’s absence from the wedding festivities of Saboor Aly and Ali Ansari comes after the actor seemingly skipped Sajal’s Khel Khel Mein premiere.
Ahad’s family also did not attend the premiere despite having a close relationship with Sajal.
When asked why Ahad Raza Mir didn’t attend the premiere, Sajal Aly said:
“Ahad is at work, he is not in Pakistan so that is why he is not here.”
However, fans were not convinced with the actress’ response as Ahad was spotted at a party in Karachi around the same time.
Amid the rumours, Sajal Aly recently revealed that the couple has decided to take a break from joint projects.
Sajal said:
“I thought that Dhoop Ki Deewar had a simple story and I would be working with a great team.”
“But Ahad and I did decide that we had been acting together far too frequently and that we should take a break from it, unless, of course, the sort of story comes along that we can’t resist.”
Meanwhile, Sajal opened up about turning down a lead role in a Hollywood film.
The Mom actress shared: “If an actor is lucky, he or she gets offered more international work but, regardless, I would never turn my back on my own industry.
“All the international work that has come my way has been because those filmmakers had seen my work in Pakistan.
“And when I go abroad, I do so as a Pakistani.
“I want to keep contributing and giving back to my industry with the work that I do.”
Sajal went on to reveal that she rejected it because of “one bold scene”.
She elaborated: “I was also offered the title role in another Hollywood movie and the story was very exciting.
“However, there was a single, very bold scene in the movie that I knew I couldn’t do.”
