"I wouldn’t want to disillusion them like that.”
Sajal Aly opened up about turning down a lead role in a Hollywood film.
In an interview with Maliha Rehman, Sajal revealed that she was offered a Hollywood film in which she had the lead role.
She shared: “If an actor is lucky, he or she gets offered more international work but, regardless, I would never turn my back on my own industry.
“All the international work that has come my way has been because those filmmakers had seen my work in Pakistan.
“And when I go abroad, I do so as a Pakistani.
“I want to keep contributing and giving back to my industry with the work that I do.”
Sajal went on to say that she rejected it because of “one bold scene”.
She elaborated: “I was also offered the title role in another Hollywood movie and the story was very exciting.
“However, there was a single, very bold scene in the movie that I knew I couldn’t do.”
On the possibility of using a body double for the scene, Sajal said:
“Even if I managed to do so, the people of my country would have connected that scene with me.
“I wouldn’t want to disillusion them like that.”
Sajal Aly is one of Pakistan’s most versatile actors.
Her last film, Khel Khel Mein, received a positive response from the audience.

The film also stars Shabana Azmi, Lily James, and Emma Thompson.
Despite her upcoming projects, Sajal Aly’s personal life has attracted a lot of attention as of late.
It is heavily rumoured that she and husband Ahad Raza Mir are set to split up.
Rumours of the couple’s separation began when Sajal Aly was promoting Khel Khel Mein alongside her co-star Bilal Abbas Khan.
Sajal’s husband was nowhere to be seen during the promotions and failed to make an appearance at the film’s premiere.
Ahad’s family also did not attend the premiere.
During the promotional tour, Sajal Aly answered paparazzi who asked about her husband’s absence.
When asked why Ahad didn’t attend the premiere, Sajal said:
“Ahad is at work, he is not in Pakistan so that is why he is not here.”
However, fans were not convinced with the actress’ response as Ahad was spotted at a party in Karachi around the same time.
Ahad also did not attend Saboor Aly’s wedding festivities. Meanwhile, Sajal was seen at her sister’s Mayun ceremony.
