"We had things we were talking about."
Will Smith has once again spoken about his desire to work in Bollywood and asked Shah Rukh Khan to cast him in a film.
The actor was in Dubai for the Middle East launch of Pole to Pole with Will Smith when he reflected on his long-standing admiration for Hindi cinema and its biggest stars.
Smith revealed that he has directly approached Shah Rukh Khan about a potential collaboration, acknowledging the actor’s immense stature in Indian cinema.
He said: “I want Shah Rukh to put me in something, Shah Rukh what’s up?”
Smith also confirmed he has previously held discussions with Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, although none of those conversations resulted in a completed project.
The Hollywood star explained: “I was talking to Salman. We had things we were talking about.
“I was trying to get into something with Big B, you know. He told me I could be Big W, so we were cool – we were sharing the title.
“There were a couple of things over the years… nothing panned out.”
SRK is currently filming King, which also stars Deepika Padukone and his daughter Suhana Khan. The film is set to release later in 2026.
Will Smith will be seen in Pole to Pole With Will Smith. It is a seven-part docuseries following the actor on a 100-day journey from the South Pole to the North Pole.
The series reportedly was five years in making, exploring all seven continents.
On his experience, Smith admitted that the Himalayas was a tough part:
“There were things we did on this show that you would never be allowed to do on a movie set. We did things that usually the stunt man would have to do.
“We walked from 12,000 to just over 14,000 [feet]. I was crawling. I couldn’t move at all.”
“And we were with a 70-year-old woman who was easily walking up and down the mountain.”
Talking about the lesson he learned during this extreme experience, Will Smith added:
“The major takeaway for me was how fear destroys your possibility to experience beauty.
“If you’re scared in a relationship, you can’t really experience the best of that person. If you’re scared in nature, you can’t take those extra couple of steps into where the most beautiful part of it is.
“Fear really destroys your ability to be happy.”
