"I will go to him for sure."
Director Atlee has spoken about whether he would work with superstar Shah Rukh Khan again.
The duo collaborated on Jawan (2023) and it became a mega-blockbuster at the box office.
In a recent interview, Atlee praised SRK’s previous work and said he felt lucky to work with him.
The filmmaker said: “I love all his films, DDLJ, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express, I can go on and on.
“For me, he is the face of Indian cinema to the world. So, it is a dream to work with Mr Shah Rukh sir.
“Fortunately, I got to do that in my fifth film. God has been kind and I think I have justified that.
“Of course, definitely I will crack a subject better than Jawan, and I will go to him for sure.
“I will narrate and I will go to him for sure. I will narrate it. If he likes, definitely it will happen.
“I know he loves me a lot. He is something else. He is always an energy to go.
“He is the best man I have seen in my life.
“Thank you, Shah Rukh sir. I will come to you once I crack something greater than Jawan.
“I will definitely come to you.”
SRK played a double role in Jawan. He portrayed Azaad, the jailor of a women’s prison and he also played Vikram Rathore, a former commando.
The film was a massive success for both Shah Rukh and Atlee. It earned over Rs. 1,148 Crore (£113 million) at the box office.
Atlee also divulged that he learnt a lot from working with SRK. He said:
“I learnt a lot from Khan sir, by being patient, getting everything right, taking the film to the next level.
“Shah Rukh sir has taught me to raise the bar.
“My next film will have even better energy and we’ll make something bigger than Jawan.”
SRK recently won the ‘Best Actor’ at the 2024 Dadasaheb Phalke Awards for Jawan.
In his acceptance speech, the star expressed:
“I thank the jury who considered me worthy of the Best Actor award.
“I have not received the Best Actor Award in a long time.
“It seemed as if I would not get it again. So I am extremely happy. I like awards. I am a bit greedy.
“I am genuinely thrilled and touched that people have recognised the work that I have put in.”
“Work of an artist is not important. All the people around him or her make everything come together.
“So a lot of people’s hard work is involved in making Jawan and helping me win this award.
“I promise I will keep working hard and entertain India and people who are living abroad – whether it takes me to dance, to fall, to fly, to romance, to be evil, to be a bad guy, to be a good guy.
“Inshallah, I will keep working hard.”
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki (2023).
