"The film will be Atlee’s next directorial after Jawan."
Thalapathy Vijay and Atlee are set to reunite for another film soon.
The duo has created blockbusters by working on films like Theri, Mersal and Bigil.
Now, there is a rumour doing the rounds that four years after Bigil, Vijay is all set to reunite with Atlee on a feature film.
It is also reported that Atlee is in talks to kick-start his next with Vijay from September 2023.
According to a source close to the development:
“Atlee has got the idea okayed from Thalapathy Vijay and also the producers.
“He will work towards locking the screenplay soon as the idea is to take the film on floors from September/October this year.
“The film will be Atlee’s next directorial after Jawan. While the idea is green-lit, the paperwork will happen only after the release of Jawan.”
The source added that the Jawan shoot would be wrapped up by the end of March.
Further, similar to their previous films, the reunion of Vijay and Atlee will also be on an action drama.
There is also another rumour that Sun Pictures will be producing the film, however, there is no confirmation yet.
Earlier, there was news that AGS Entertainment, the producer of Bigil, will be bankrolling the film.
On the work front, Atlee is getting ready for the release of Jawan with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead.
The film is said to be a Pan India film.
The film has cast actors from the Hindi and Tamil industries.
The film also features Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi among others. There are also reports that Vijay will have a cameo in Jawan.
Meanwhile, Vijay is currently shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj’s next titled Leo.
The film will release worldwide on October 19, 2023.
Recently, the promo and title of the film were released.
The two-minute promo video of Leo shows Vijay making chocolate and simultaneously forging a sword.
He is seen dipping the sword in the chocolate while waiting for an entourage of villains.
The promo ends with a battalion of cars reaching his home and the actor is seen wielding a sword dripping with chocolate.
Ever since the promo video was released, fans have been going gaga over it.
Trisha Krishnan, Arjun, Priya Anand, Sanjay Dutt, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Sandy, and Mysskin, among others, are part of the film.
Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for the highly-anticipated film.
