Akshay Kumar has announced Housefull 5, stating that the comedy will have “five times the madness”.

Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the fifth instalment of the comedy franchise will be produced by Sajid Nadiawala.

Akshay shared the poster on Instagram but when will the film be released?

He wrote: “Get ready for five times the madness! Bringing to y’all Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 5.

“Directed by Tarun Mansukhani. See you in cinemas on Diwali 2024.”

Akshay also announced that Riteish Deshmukh will be part of the film.

The pair have been part of the franchise since the beginning, however, Akshay has not announced other cast members yet.

Riteish added: “We’re back! And this time, we’re surely going to make your Diwali brighter!

“Presenting our next one in the franchise! Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 5.”

Fans expressed their excitement for the upcoming film but some also asked for an update on Hera Pheri 3.

One asked: “What about Hera Pheri 3?”

Another said: “When is Hera Pheri 3 coming out?”

Praising Akshay for his comic timing, one said:

“Comedy King is back.”

Suggesting a potential cast member, a fan commented:

“Akshay Kumar, please cast Kartik Aaryan in Housefull 3.”

One comment read: “Four parts were amazing, now the wait for the 5th part begins.”

The first two Housefull instalments were directed by Sajid Khan.

The third was directed by Sajid and Farhad Samji while the fourth film was solely directed by Farhad.

Housefull was released in 2010 and featured an all-star cast. This included the likes of Arjun Rampal, Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone, Malaika Arora, Boman Irani and Chunky Pandey.

The second instalment, released in 2012, featured John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez and Asin.

Housefull 3 was released in 2016 and saw Jacqueline return alongside Abhishek Bachchan, Nargis Fakhri and Boman Irani.

The most recent film was released in 2019 and featured Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde and Kriti Kharbanda.

As well as Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh, Chunky Pandey has also been a part of the entire franchise.

Although no other cast members have been announced yet, it is likely that Chunky will make an appearance in the 2024 film.

Away from Housefull, Akshay Kumar was last seen in Selfiee, which failed to impress audiences at the box office.

He will be next seen in OMG 2, which is set to be released on August 11, 2023.
