The singer broke down in tears.
Singer and composer Vishal Dadlani has addressed viral rumours claiming he was dropped from Indian Idol 16 over political remarks.
The speculation had been spreading rapidly online following his outspoken comments about the NEET-UG paper leak controversy in India.
Vishal addressed the claims directly through a video post on Instagram that was equal parts humorous and pointedly defiant.
In the video, he was seen on the sets of Indian Idol. The singer broke down in tears before suddenly bursting into laughter.
He then looked straight into the camera and quipped: “Here I am, baby!”
Alongside the video, he also issued a sharp and clear message to those who had been spreading and consuming the false information online.
“Remember not to trust anything you see online. There’s a whole lot of manipulation going on.
“Keep fighting the good fight, and saying what needs to be said!”
The post quickly drew a wave of reactions from fans and followers who appreciated both the humour and the message behind it.
A user said: “Indian Idol is famous because of him, believe or cry.”
Another wrote: “Bros roasting is on point.”
A third added: “Serving fresh, much-needed wisdom, as always.”
The rumours had taken root after Vishal shared a strongly worded post expressing solidarity with students affected by the NEET-UG paper leak.

His comments were direct, political and deeply personal, touching on governance, accountability and the broader state of education in the country.
“I just want to express my support and solidarity with the students who have been hurt by this NEET paper leak.
“It’s wrong that it happens every year.
“It’s even more wrong that no government agencies are taking responsibility, and worse that ministers are sitting there saying it’s no big deal.”
He went further, making a pointed and impassioned argument about the quality of leadership currently holding power in the country.
“Those in power are not educated. This is going to destroy India.
“Whether you like it or not, whether it feels good or bad, this is the truth.”
“Please, if possible, elect better people — vote for good, educated people.”
Vishal also directly addressed the tendency among voters to choose leaders based on caste or religious affiliation rather than merit and competence.
He appealed to citizens to think beyond those loyalties when exercising their democratic right at the ballot box in future elections.
“Please don’t put these ignorant goons in power, even if they are from your caste or family. Please don’t vote for them.
“Enough is enough. What is happening to this country, brother?”
It was these remarks that prompted several social media pages to claim that the makers of Indian Idol had decided to remove him from the show.
The claims spread quickly and widely, fuelling speculation that his political outspokenness had cost him his seat on one of India’s most-watched television programmes.
Vishal Dadlani’s Instagram response has since put those rumours firmly to rest.
