"They are very private people"
Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have been the talk of the town since rumours of their engagement started circulating on social media.
The much-loved couple, who have been spotted together on numerous occasions, has managed to keep their relationship under wraps.
Despite living together, the couple has yet to make their relationship public, leaving fans eagerly anticipating an official announcement.
Breaking the silence about their companionship, Vijay Deverakonda recently spilt the beans in an exclusive interview with Lifestyle Asia.
It was believed that the couple would announce their future marriage in February 2024. However, Vijay Deverakonda came forward and revealed:
“I’m not getting engaged or married in February.
“It feels like the press just wants to get me married every two years. I hear this rumour every year.
“They’re just walking around waiting to catch me and get me married.”
The chemistry between Vijay and Rashmika extends beyond their personal lives.
They have previously shared the screen in two blockbuster films, Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade, earning accolades from both critics and audiences alike.
While Vijay is currently engrossed in the shooting of Family Star and Gowtam Tinnanuri’s VD 12, Rashmika’s filmography is packed with exciting projects.
These include Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rule, Rainbow, The Girlfriend, and Chaava.
Despite their reluctance to confirm their relationship, the duo often faces questions about each other during interviews and shows.
Rashmika, during a recent appearance on Telugu star Nandamuri Balakrishna’s talk show, Unstoppable with NBK 2, was put on the spot.
She had to choose between two posters – Vijay Deverakonda’s Arjun Reddy and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal.
Ranbir, playfully intervening, prompted Rashmika to declare who the better hero was, adding an amusing twist to the conversation.
Later, she was even asked to call Vijay and put him on speaker, adding an unexpected and exciting element to the show.
But, it seems the engagement rumours have been put to bed by Vijay.
Furthermore, a source close to the duo said:
“Well, there is no truth in all such claims.
“They are not at all planning to go public with their romance, or planning to take their relationship to the next level by exchanging rings.
“They are very private people.
“They have not gone public with their romance till now, leaving behind some hints making people wonder about their bond.
“The claim about them going for a big revelation and then getting engagement is fake because that is so unlike their personalities.”
