Bollywood star Varun Dhawan has shared a video of himself as he turns into a rapper and advises his fans to stay indoors during the lockdown in India.
The video also features snippets of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech to the nation on Wednesday, 25 March 2020, when he announced the 21 days nationwide lockdown.
This action was taken as a means of combatting the spread of the Coronavirus outbreak.
Celebrities have taken the initiative to use their social media platform to promote the concept of social distancing and self-isolation.
Bollywood stars like Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif and more have been regularly been posting snippets of their lives in self-quarantine.
It appears actor Varun Dhawan has found an inventive way to create more awareness about the importance of social distancing.
The Instagram video shared online has received over 399,860 views and has certainly been a hit was his fan following as well as other celebrities.
Commenting on the rap video, fellow actor and friend Arjun Kapoor jokingly asked, “I just want to know who the cameraman is…”.
Renowned Indian rapper Badshah also took to the comment section to applaud Varun’s actions. He said: “Let them know varun da1.”
Aayush Sharma also advised Varun Dhawan to “release this track” while choreographer Rahul Shetty said, “Varun Da-One hitting the gram.”
Varun’s fan following also applauded the star with several red heart emojis, clapping emojis and fire emojis in the comment section.
The actor ended his rap on a positive note saying, “Janta curfew rocks.”
On Sunday, 22 March 2020, Varun along with his family emerged on their balcony to cheer for medical staff and other necessary service providers who have continued to work during the pandemic.
Previously on Instagram, Varun Dhawan shared his thoughts concerning the outbreak of the Coronavirus. He expressed:
“As we all battle this virus, I think it is time we realise that the human race has been extremely selfish. It’s time to introspect.
“We share this planet with many other species. Development is important but not at the cost of killing other species.
“We will overcome this but we must realise that messing with Mother Nature comes at a cost.”
On the acting front, Varun will next be seen on the silver screen is the remake of Coolie No. 1 (2020) opposite Sara Ali Khan.
Originally, the film was scheduled to release on May 1, 2020. However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, this may have to be pushed back.
