"You lit the fireworks. I'll put them out."
The trailer for Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 has been released and it is as adrenaline-pumping as fans wished it to be.
Salman’s titular hero makes a grand entrance, crashing through on a motorbike and taking out bad guys.
As he wraps around his signature scarf, the trailer shows Tiger enjoying family life with his wife Zoya (Katrina Kaif) and their son.
Tiger makes breakfast and play-fights with his son.
But in the background, an ominous voice narrates:
“Every man’s most precious thing is his family. A wife’s love, a child’s happiness.
“You took it all away from me, Tiger.”
This indicates that the unseen narrator is a face from Tiger’s past, who is hell-bent on taking revenge for something Tiger unknowingly did.
Things quickly take a turn as Tiger is betrayed and labelled a traitor by India.
The narrator vows to ensure that Tiger loses everything.
Calling his mission “personal”, Tiger sets off on a dangerous journey to clear his name and expose the villain.
Tiger travels all over the world, fighting goons and going on high-octane car chases. Meanwhile, the villain lurks in the shadows.
Viewers even see a disguised Tiger, sporting long hair and a bushy beard, shooting one of his pursuers.
Both Zoya and her son are seen in peril, making the stakes much higher.
The trailer showcases some of Katrina’s action sequences as she jumps onto one goon and fires at multiple enemies.
She even fights Riddhi Dogra’s character, wearing just a towel.
Talking to his enemy, Tiger says: “You lit the fireworks. I’ll put them out.”
Massive explosions and lots of gunfire followed before Emraan Hashmi’s big reveal as the main antagonist.
He confronts an imprisoned Tiger and says:
“Welcome to Pakistan, Tiger.”
Emraan’s character name is not revealed but he sports a grey beard.
The trailer release excited fans, with many praising the supporting actors rather than Salman.
One said: “Who’s here for Emraan Hashmi? Seeing him back in a movie after so long gives me goosebumps!!”
Praising Katrina’s performance in the trailer, another wrote:
“Nobody’s talking about how much goosebumps Katrina is giving throughout this trailer?”
“It’s sad that female lead roles aren’t that appreciated in India.
“Never forget that Katrina is half-Indian, married to an Indian person, living and also working in Indian movies, isn’t that enough for you?
“We need to appreciate her as much as we do to Salman. She’s our pride.”
Taking place after the events of War and Pathaan, Tiger 3 is the next instalment of the YRF Spy Universe and the titular character had a cameo in Pathaan.
Shah Rukh Khan will have an extended cameo in Tiger 3.
Directed by Maneesh Sharma, Tiger 3 is set to release on November 12, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
