“No one is a damn saint."
Former actress Somy Ali has said that drugs should be legalised, revealing that she once “tried pot” when she was 15-years-old.
In an Instagram post shared on October 7, 2021, Somy expressed her support for Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan.
Aryan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on October 3, 2021, after a drug bust on a Goa-bound cruise ship.
In her Instagram post, Somy also spoke about experimenting with drugs.
In her long caption, she revealed that she tried marijuana when she was 15.
She said: “What kid has not experimented with drugs?
“Give me a big freaking break! And let this kid go home.
“Drugs, similar to prostitution, will never go away which is why both should be decriminalised.
“This is the epitome of a kid being a kid scenario. No one is a damn saint.
“I tried pot when I was 15 and then again with Divya Bharti during the shooting of Andolan. No regrets.”

The actress starred in the 1995 film Andolan alongside Sanjay Dutt and Govinda.
Late actress Divya Bharti was the wife of Andolan’s producer Sajid Nadiadwala.
Divya died in 1993 after falling off the balcony of her home. Her husband paid a tribute to her with the opening shot of the movie.
In the 1990s, Somy starred in several films and worked with Saif Ali Khan, Mithun Chakraborty and Suniel Shetty among others.
Somy shared the post with her 10.8k Instagram followers.
She also said:
“The judicial system is using Aryan to prove a point as this child suffers for no damn reason.
“How about the judicial system focus on catching rapists and murderers instead?!”
“The US has been fighting a war on drugs since 1971 and yet they are easily accessible to anyone who desires to use them.
“My heart goes out to Shah Rukh and Gauri and my prayers are with them.
“Aryan, you have done nothing wrong and justice will be served, kiddo.”
Aryan was sent to judicial custody for 14 days on October 7, 2021. His bail plea will be heard on October 8, 2021, at a Mumbai court.
Aryan is the eldest child of actor Shah Rukh Khan and interior designer Gauri Khan.
Many celebrities have expressed their support for Aryan and his family.
Somy’s ex-boyfriend, Salman Khan paid a visit to Shah Rukh Khan’s home following Aryan’s arrest.
Hrithik Roshan also shared an open letter for Aryan, telling him to stay strong.
