The pageant strives to recognise and empower the Indo-Australian community.
Soha Ali Khan has been announced as a guest judge in a beauty pageant for Indian Australians, to be held in Blacktown, Sydney on June 19, 2015.
The actress will join several Bollywood and Australian celebrities to decide the winners of Miss, Mrs, and Mr India Australia out of 35 contestants.
Soha is no stranger to giving constructive criticism in these events. She was one of the jurors at the Johnnie Walker Digital Mentorship Programme as well as the CMS College Fest in Bangalore.
24-year-old Puja Paul competing for Miss India Australia was delighted upon hearing how Soha will be on hand to judge the pageant.
She said: “I’m a big fan of hers, but I didn’t know she was going to be judging the competition.
“It just shows how great this event will be with someone of that calibre invited.”
Soha herself expressed how thrilled she was to be involved in the celebratory event on Twitter:

So far, the other celebrities who are set to join Soha on the panel have yet been announced.
Whilst the judges will critique the contestants’ physical appearances, the competition will showcase other important aspects, such as heritage and personality.
The three-titled pageant is organised annually for Indo-Australian men and women, helping them celebrate and embrace their Indian ancestry.
Puja commented; “They look at more than just looks; it’s also your personality and there aren’t many platforms that offer that kind of judgement.”
The three lucky winners of the pageant will be given huge exposure. As well as holding such a prestigious title, they will also fly out to Jamaica to compete in the United Nations pageant in July 2015.
Until then, contestants will be fighting for the title of Miss, Mrs, and Mr India Australia at Bowman Hall, Blacktown on June 19.
