The trailer of Ayushmann Khurrana’s forthcoming Bollywood film, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan touches upon homophobia in India in a light-hearted manner.

The filmmakers of the upcoming Bollywood film, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan (2020) released the trailer on Monday, 20 January 2020, at 1.33 pm as promised and it is a definite hit with fans.

The trailer boasts a hilarious and fun journey on the theme of homosexuality. which is still considered taboo in India.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Kota Factory (2019) star Jitendra Kumar.

The film also stars Gajraj Rao, Neena Gupta, Manurishi Chaddha, Jitu K, Sunita Rajwar, Maanvi Gagroo, Pankhuri Awasthy and Neeraj Singh in pivotal roles.

Ayushmann Khurrana will be taking us on a journey with a new refreshing love story.

The trailer begins with Ayushmann being asked when he decided to be gay. He snaps back asking, “when did you decide not to be gay?”

The trailer shows Ayushmann playing the role of a gay man. He is determined to convince his boyfriend’s (Jitendra Kumar) parents to accept their relationship.

However, Gajraj Rao, who plays the role of the strict father is hell-bent on convincing his son (Jitendra) that he is not gay.

In a bid to influence his son, he brings along a stunning woman to woo his son but when all else fails, he resorts to beating up Ayushmann Khuranna.

Despite the hardship and unacceptance the couple face, they continue to relentlessly fight for their love and against homophobia.

The trailer was a massive hit with fans who immediately took to Twitter to applaud Ayushmann and the entire team.

One fan went on Twitter to praise Ayushmann Khurrana saying:

The film is the quasi-sequel to the 2017 film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar.

The film is helmed by Hitesh Kewalya and produced by Bhushan Kumar. The trailer successfully delivered a social message concerning the concept of same-sex couples with a light-hearted element.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is set to hit the big screen on February 21, 2020.
