Shetty denied being involved
Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty has defended her husband Raj Kundra in her police statement for his case.
Kundra is currently in police custody for allegedly creating and distributing pornographic films on mobile apps.
According to Mumbai Police, the entrepreneur is a key conspirator in the case.
Crime Branch officials spent over six hours searching Shetty and Kundra’s house on Friday, July 23, 2021.
They also left with Shilpa Shetty’s recorded statement.
According to reports, Shetty denied being involved in the production of pornographic videos on the app HotShots.
She also referred to the adult films as “erotica”, not pornography.
Speaking of Shilpa Shetty’s statement, a police official said:
“She said that the movies available on HotShots are not pornography but erotica.
“She also said that nowadays, similar content is available on the various OTT platforms and in fact, some are more obscene than what is available on HotShots.”
Shilpa Shetty claims her husband Raj Kundra has no involvement in the case either, and that he is innocent.
According to Shetty, Kundra’s brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi handled everything related to the HotShots app from London.
However, despite Shetty’s claims that her husband is innocent, Mumbai Police are not convinced.
A police official said:
“We have enough evidence that he (Raj Kundra) was dealing with everything, his brother-in-law was made the owner of the London-based company just for namesake.”
Recently, Raj Kundra’s custody was extended until Tuesday, July 27, 2021. His bail plea was also reportedly denied.
Kundra’s initial arrest came on Monday, July 19, 2021. Since then, Shilpa Shetty has been feeling the repercussions.
Netizens are calling for Shetty to be permanently removed as a judge on Super Dancer Chapter 4, and want her to be banned from TV completely.

Shilpa Shetty skipped shooting for the latest episode of Super Dancer Chapter 4. Makers of the show have called actress Karisma Kapoor to take her place.
