Music icon and pop culture trailblazer Badshah has become the first-ever Indian rapper to attend New York Fashion Week.
Invited by acclaimed designer Alexander Wang, Badshah sat front row for the highly anticipated Spring 2026 collection at 58 Bowery.
The moment marks a historic crossover of Indian hip hop and global fashion.
It comes shortly after Badshah’s triumphant appearance at Paris Men’s Fashion Week for Amiri, while his sold-out Unfinished Tour continues across North America.
Styled by New York-based Shipra Sharma, Badshah made a commanding entrance in a light-blue, washed-denim, oversized zip-up hoodie with matching jeans.
His look was anchored by Alexander Wang’s black chunky-sole boots, blending streetwear ease with couture refinement.
At the heart of the look was handcrafted jewellery from luxury accessories house Deepa Gurnani.
A constellation of diamond-encrusted brooches, Alligator on Ice, Jay, Goat on Ice, Skull on Ice, Elephant on Ice, were scattered across his jacket.
Each piece was meticulously crafted in India by master artisans, fusing bold glamour with cultural homage.
The elephant motif stood out as a tribute to Badshah’s Indian heritage, while his handheld black shimmery Majestic Clutch finished the look.
Adding further luxury, Badshah wore a Richard Mille RM 74-02, a skeletonised timepiece celebrated for avant-garde precision.
Oakley Metal Jacket sunglasses in matte black added a futuristic edge.
Complementing his brooches, premier fine-jewellery brand Shaneli provided a custom 50-carat necklace and diamond rings set in 18K gold and 5 carats.
The interlocking design echoed the rhythm and flow of his music, bringing his artistry into conversation with fine craftsmanship.
The rapper shared the spotlight with a glittering guest list.
Sitting alongside him were Cardi B and her daughter Kulture, Law Roach, Martha Stewart and others.
The show also marked Alexander Wang’s return to New York Fashion Week after a seven-year absence.
Celebrating his 20th anniversary, Wang reimagined 58 Bowery, once a financial institution, as an immersive space for “Matriarch”, his latest collection.
The showcase fused personal storytelling, cutting-edge AI design and Wang’s signature minimalist-rebellious aesthetic.
Models in deconstructed silhouettes and experimental materials walked beneath projections that pointed to a future of technology-driven luxury.
