"The celebs thought they were in for an easy ride."
Shazia Mirza is a British comedian, actress, and writer. It was recently announced that she would be doing something quite interesting.
The comedian has been revealed as one of the contestants in The Celebrity Apprentice Christmas Special in 2025.
In the two-part special, Lord Alan Sugar will send Shazia Mirza and the other celebrities to Lapland.
They will be tasked with creating and marketing their own gingerbread biscuits.
The first team created Jolly McTrouble, a biscuit with vanilla, butter toffee, and Christmas pudding-flavoured festive icing.
With the tagline ‘Be Naughty, Get Nice’, it showcased a portrait of Santa Claus’ naughty brother, Jolly McTrouble.
Shazia Mirza will be seen in the opposite team that developed Gary the Penguin.
This biscuit blends lemon, bubble-gum, and white pepper, with the tagline ‘A Cheeky Treat For Your Little Rebel’.
Shaped like a festive penguin, the biscuit contains daring flavour.
For the Christmas Special, Lord Sugar’s aides will be Baroness Karren Brady and Mike Soutar.
The latter will be filling in for Tim Campbell MBE, who was not available for filming.
From Friday, November 14, 2025, the biscuits will be sold to the public on a nationwide scale.
All proceeds made from the sales will aim to help children and young people across the UK, while also contributing to the BBC’s Children in Need.
Stores that will sell the products include Asda, Tesco, Boots, and Amazon Online.
Lord Sugar enthused: “It’s the first ever time on The Celebrity Apprentice that the public can buy products that were created by the celebrity candidates.
“It’s added some real pressure to the process.
“I think the celebs thought they were in for an easy ride, but they were wrong!
“Raising money for the BBC’s Children in Need is serious business, so the candidates really need to deliver if they want to avoid ending up on my naughty list.”
Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment Commissioning at the BBC, added:
“The celebrity candidates will be giving viewers a tasty treat or two this Christmas that viewers can literally sink their teeth into, all while supporting the incredible work of the BBC ‘s Children in Need.
“Are viewers going to be Team Gary the Penguin or Team Jolly McTrouble? Let the festive boardroom battle begin!”
Paul Broadbent, Director of Programmes at Naked, said: “We have taken The Apprentice out of the boardroom and straight onto the shelves.
“These special episodes bridge the gap between entertainment and real-world impact.”
“It is a rare opportunity for audiences to buy, taste and enjoy something they’ve watched being created on screen, and it has been great fun seeing the celebs’ ideas come to life, all in aid of a fantastic charity.”
