Cricket Star Boom Boom Shahid Afridi will release his autobiography in 2017. The book will be published by HarperCollins India.

The publisher has described Shahid Afridi's autobiography as “big-hitting and no holds barred.”

Pakistan cricket all-rounder Boom Boom Shahid Afridi is set to release his memoir in 2017.

The book titled Shahid Afridi: An Autobiography is being penned with the help of famous Journalist and TV anchor Wajahat Saeed Khan.

The autobiography will give an interesting account of cricket’s most exciting player, who as a 16-year-old blasted a record-breaking hundred against Sri Lanka in 1996.

The Sahibzada from Karachi also holds the record of hitting the most sixes (351) in the history of ODI cricket, along with being the highest wicket-taker (97) in T20 internationals.

Afridi will open up about his life through this book, including stories, which he has never shared in the public domain before.

Speaking to the media, Afridi said: “In all my years of cricket, I’ve given hundreds of interviews and done dozens of TV shows, but what you will read in my memoir are the stories and thoughts I’ve never shared openly. I have a lot to say: about my confidence, my fears, my adversaries, my ambitions, my goals and failures.

“In the book, I’ve opened up about my rivalries and my alliances, particularly those with India, as well as my infatuation with the military and my take on politics. It was a tall order to get myself ready to do this, but I’m proud to join hands with a fine storyteller and journalist like Wajahat bhai.”

HarperCollins have secured the global rights of the book. The publisher has described Shahid Afridi’s autobiography as “big-hitting and no holds barred.”

Besides his connection with the book, Wajahat has had an interesting rendezvous with Afridi so far. Commenting on this, Khan said:

“He may be the most in-your-face cricketer Pakistan or even South Asia has ever produced, but Afridi isn’t an open-and-shut case to study. Interviewing and working with one of the greatest and most complicated cricketing icons wasn’t just exciting, it was also quite scary.”

Pleased to be publishing the book, Chief Editor of HarperCollins India Karthika V K said:

“It will be a great addition to the Harper Sport list and I look forward to working with him and Wajahat to make a memorable book.”

Fans are eager to read Shahid Afridi’s autobiography, as one can expect him to make explosive revelations in the book.
