"I want to show everyone the real me"
Amir Khan is set to release his autobiography after retiring from the boxing scene.
The former world champion retired from the sport in May 2022. His last fight was a sixth-round TKO loss to Kell Brook in February 2022.
Since retiring, Amir has been focused on a number of other ventures and he is now releasing a book.
He will publish Fight For Your Life: The Autobiography with leading publishing house Penguin Random House.
In the autobiography, Amir reflects on a boxing career that spanned 27 years, detailing his first fight to his last.
For the first time, Amir will also reveal the full story of his life outside of boxing.
He said: “With this book, I want to show everyone the real me, in and out of the ring.
“I had an amazing boxing career but there’s more to me than knocking other guys’ lights out.
“I hope readers find this book entertaining and surprising, and that we can share some laughs, some stories and some occasional wisdom together.”
The book will reveal never-before-told stories about Amir’s greatest fights and rivalries. It will also explore his Muslim faith and how his family “forged” him.
It details the shocking armed robbery in which Amir had his watch robbed at gunpoint shortly after he and his wife Faryal Makhdoom left a restaurant.
The ups and downs of Amir’s marriage will also be explored.
Amir Khan describes his charity efforts to help Pakistan’s devastating floods and he recounts what he describes as hilarious antics of his everyday life as a husband and father of three children, made popular in the BBC Three TV series Meet the Khans: Big in Bolton.
The third series of the reality show is currently being filmed.
Amir says the book, which will be written in ’12 chapters and 12 rounds’, aims to inspire readers.
The book will be released sometime in 2023 and Amir will be supporting his autobiography with in-person signings.
Jerome at Shine Talent Management said: “Amir has forever changed the sporting landscape and with his trademark cheeky wit and effusive personality, Fight For Your Life will demonstrate just why he is one of the greats.”
In addition to releasing a new book, Amir will enter the jungle again as he confirmed that he will be on a new all-stars edition of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
The new show will be in South Africa and it will feature 15 legends from throughout the show’s history, which will be a record number of campmates.
