"you have kept me afloat in deep and stormy seas."
Former LBC host Sangita Myska broke her silence for the first time since leaving the show in a statement on X.
She addressed her listeners and thanked them for “keeping her afloat in stormy seas”.
Myska also took a jab at former Home Secretary Suella Braverman, who was announced as a guest host for LBC.
Myska stated that not all “brown women” were the same.
Braverman is known for her staunch beliefs on immigration and for mocking a group that she called the “tofu-eating wokerati”.
Sangita Myska’s full statement read:
“Brown women with public profiles are a diverse group.
“We do not all revile the homeless, asylum seekers, Joan Salter, tofu, lawful protestors, centrists, the EU, international courts.
“Nor do we ‘dream’ of deportation flights to Rwanda, endorse the language of the far right, or hope to lead the Tory party.”
Thanking her listeners, she added:
“To all my astonishing listeners and supporters, you have kept me afloat in deep and stormy seas.
“Sorry I’m unable to answer all of your questions. I am truly grateful for your care, friendship and encouragement.
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Sangita x.”

After coming off the air in April 2024, Sangita Myska received a lot of open support, with over 100 media figures expressing “deep concern” at her sudden disappearance from LBC.
Myska hosted a show from 1 pm to 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays on LBC.
Social media users believed that her departure was due to a fiery interview Myska conducted with an Israeli spokesperson about Gaza.
It was announced that she would be leaving LBC at the end of her contract.
As the only Asian presenter in a regular slot at LBC, many were shocked, upset and confused at her departure.
Almost 40,000 people subsequently signed a petition calling for the presenter to be reinstated due to speculation that she had been suspended over the interview.
After breaking her silence, many social media users have voiced their support for Myska.
One user said: “If you want to understand the sorry state of UK broadcasting, Suella Braverman now has a spot on LBC and Sangita Myska was removed for being a proper journalist.”
Another said: “Binned this station after their treatment of Sangita Myska. Glad to see this has remained a smart move.”
