"We’ve waited years to see Prova on the big screen."
Sadia Jahan Prova has officially begun her silver screen journey with two government-funded productions, marking her first appearance in films.
On August 30, 2025, the actress began shooting for Dena Pawna in Hotapara, Gazipur.
The film, directed by Sadek Siddique, is based on Rabindranath Tagore’s acclaimed short story.
Prova plays Nirupama, opposite Mamnun Hasan Emon.
Emon portrays the son of a wealthy landlord, a magistrate from Kolkata, whose marriage is arranged with Nirupama.
The narrative follows a tragic turn when Nirupama’s father fails to meet the dowry demand.
Overcome with despair, Nirupama ends her life, driving the story towards its heartbreaking conclusion.
Shooting for Dena Pawna began after Prova completed the first phase of filming for Dui Poishar Manush, directed by Zhumur Asma Jui.
Both films are government-funded productions.
Prova explained that filming for Dui Poishar Manush is progressing steadily.
According to the director, the second phase is scheduled to begin in September 2025, depending on production schedules.
The story of Dui Poishar Manush reflects the everyday struggles of ordinary people.
It highlights themes of hardship, ambition, and relationships. Prova stars opposite ABM Sumon in the project.
Social media users have been sharing excitement since news of her film debut broke.
One comment read: “We’ve waited years to see Prova on the big screen.”
Another user stated: “She has always delivered strong performances and will shine in these new roles as well.”
A user added: “This is the break she deserved. So happy for her!”

One fan wrote: “Two films and two different roles? Can’t wait to see her range.”
Fans are now looking forward to the release schedules for both films, with expectations already running high.
Prova shared during an interview that these projects had been in the pipeline for some time.
She said that filming was kept quiet until production had officially begun.
She further confirmed that audiences will see her portraying two very different roles.
Filmmaker Sadek Siddique expressed optimism about the collaboration, calling Prova a natural fit for the role of Nirupama.
Director Zhumur Asma Jui also praised the actress for her dedication during the first phase of shooting.
The release dates for both productions have not yet been announced, but updates are expected in the coming months.
With filming actively underway, anticipation continues to grow among cinema enthusiasts eager to witness Sadia Jahan Prova’s big screen debut.
