“Priya Marathe – a great actress, my co-star in series and movies.

“But for me, the relationship was more important with her. Priya was my cousin sister.

“The hard work she took after coming to this field and her faith in work were very commendable.

“She played every role with great heart and harmony.

“She was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. Fighting with it, she started working again.

“She again went in front of the audience with her simply beautiful acting through the drama, serial.

“But that cancer didn’t leave her back.

“Once again her trouble jumped during our series Tu Metshi Navane.

“Her partner throughout this journey, Shantanu Moghe, was strongly with her. My sister was a fighter.

“But finally her strength fell short.

“A heartfelt tribute to you, Priya. I pray that you find peace wherever you are.”

“This news is shocking for all of us, for the entire Pavitra Rishta team, and for the industry.

“She was such a lovely person, an excellent actress, and a wonderful human being.

“I worked alongside her in Pavitra Rishta for nearly two-and-a-half years where she played my wife.

“When we received the news, it was hard to accept.

“Upon getting the call in the morning and reading the messages in the group, we were in disbelief. Life is so unpredictable.

“We never know when it will end. I believe that before chasing wealth, one should prioritise their health.

“This is a very tragic situation. I hope God grants her soul peace.”

Television Star Priya Marathe passes away aged 38 - 2Swati Anand, who starred with Priya in Kasamh Se, expressed: “I’m at a loss for words regarding Priya.

“The first time I encountered her was on the set of Kasamh Se, when the show had taken a leap, and she joined as my daughter.

“There are countless memories, so many that I can hardly articulate them all. And they are all wonderful.

“That girl achieved so much in her life, and I was thrilled that after enduring so many challenges, she was finally enjoying a good life.

“She was receiving awards, participating in plays, and establishing herself in Marathi theatre.

“She became one of the finest actresses. She had purchased a home, acquired a car, accomplished so much, and gained immense fame. What more can I say?

“When we learned about her illness, we were all somewhat devastated.”

“Yet, she never wavered in her determination, telling me, ‘Swati Di, I will confront this challenge with all my might’.

“And now, upon hearing this news, I am at a loss for words. It all feels so surreal.

“I can only pray to God that her soul finds tranquility, and wherever she may be, may her new life be incredibly beautiful.”

In 2012, Priya Marathe married the actor Shantanu Moghe. They did not have any children.
