"I have decided to call it off with Azeem Khan"
Pakistani actress Saba Qamar has called off her wedding to blogger and entrepreneur Azeem Khan for personal reasons.
However, it is speculated that it may be due to the sexual harassment allegation against him.
She took to Instagram to announce the news.
Saba also clarified that she had never met Azeem, saying that they were only in contact over the phone.
She wrote: “Hi everyone I have a very important announcement to make.
“Due to a lot of personal reasons I have decided to call it off with Azeem Khan, WE ARE NOT GETTING MARRIED NOW, hope you guys will support my decision just like you all have been supporting me always, and I guess it’s never too late to realise the bitter realities!
“I also wanted to clear ONE IMPORTANT thing that is I have never Met Azeem Khan in my life we were only connected over the phone.
“It’s a very hard time on me right now but as we all know THIS TOO SHALL PASS Insha Allah.
“Much love to you all!”

Following her announcement, the actress’ fans sent messages of support.
One wrote: “May you find the one that deserves your heart.”
Another commented: “Better now than later!”
A third said: “Don’t worry we are with you.”
Fellow actress Mahira Khan posted an encouraging comment. She wrote:
“You do YOU. Happiness is just around the corner InshAllah.”
Saba Qamar did not mention the reason for the split but it may have something to do with the sexual harassment allegation against Azeem.
Just days after he had announced his engagement to Saba, a woman accused him of sexual harassment.
Azeem later posted a video message, addressing the matter and explaining his side of the story. However, he later deleted the video.
Prior to the video being deleted, Saba showed her support, writing:
“I trust you.”
After calling off the marriage, Azeem commented on the post and took responsibility for the split. He wrote:
“Saba you have the most amazing soul and you deserve all the happiness in the universe.
“May God bless you with all the success and love. Difficult roads often led to beautiful destinations.
“And yes, I would like to take full responsibility of this breakdown.”
Saba Qamar has starred in numerous TV shows and films but her biggest role to date has been in the 2017 Hindi Medium alongside the late Irrfan Khan.
On her experience working with Irrfan, Saba had said:
“I’ve learned a lot from Irrfan. Working with him was nothing less than a fan moment for me throughout.
“As an actor, I believe that acting is actually behaving truthfully under imaginary circumstances. And I actually saw that in him.”
