Richa Moorjani has shared her own piece of joyous news this Diwali.
The Never Have I Ever star revealed she is pregnant with her first child.
The actor, best known for playing Kamala in the hit Netflix comedy-drama, took to Instagram to make the announcement.
Richa posted a series of glowing maternity pictures alongside an emotional caption.
She wrote: “It’s been quite the journey, but this Diwali feeling extra grateful for this light that is about to enter our lives.”
Her message was filled with gratitude and hope as she embraced this new chapter.
Richa, who has been married to Bharat Rishi Moorjani since 2019, looked radiant in her photos.
She wore a strapless black gown adorned with mirror work and vibrant patterns on the bust, proudly showing off her baby bump.
In another image, she stood in a black halterneck gown, softly cradling her belly as she smiled for the camera.
The announcement came shortly after she attended Lilly Singh’s star-studded Diwali party, where she had shared festive snaps only hours earlier.
The post was quickly flooded with love and congratulations from her fans and celebrity friends.
Her Never Have I Ever co-star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, who played Devi Vishwakumar, left a heartfelt message, while creator Mindy Kaling commented:
“I can’t wait to meet this kid! You are even more beautiful pregnant! Blessings and love.”
Poorna Jagannathan, who portrayed Devi’s mother Nalini on the show, also reacted with excitement, writing:
“We’re having a babyyyyyyy.”
The duo are known to share a close bond both on and off-screen.
Actor Aparna Shewakramani added: “You’re glowing! So happy for you two!”, while Adriyan Rae emotionally commented:
“Not me crying like I’m the one pregnant Richaaa! This is so beautiful! Congrats, my love!”
Richa Moorjani, aged 36, has established an impressive career spanning film and television over the past decade.
While many recognise her as Kamala in Never Have I Ever, she has appeared in numerous other projects.
Her film credits include For Here To Go?, Love Fool, Invisible Brown Man, Wolf and X: Past Is Present.
She has also featured in major TV productions such as The Mindy Project, Big Time Rush, NCIS: Los Angeles, Fargo, Alien: Earth and Sullivan & Son.
On Never Have I Ever, Richa’s character Kamala Nandiwadal was a standout favourite.
Kamala is Devi’s older cousin from India, pursuing her PhD in biology at Caltech.
Over the series, her journey explored themes of independence, family expectations, and self-discovery.
In the final season, Kamala faced major decisions, including whether to take a job offer in Baltimore.
After initially hesitating to leave her family, she ultimately accepted the position and moved with her boyfriend, closing her arc on an empowering note.
