Rhea Chakraborty snubbed from ‘Chehre’?

Rhea Chakraborty is set to return to acting in Chehre, however, it is now speculated that she may have been dropped from the film.

This comes after the filmmakers released another poster for the upcoming thriller.

The poster featured the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi but no Rhea, despite the actress announcing she would be part of the film in 2019.

Both Amitabh and Emraan had shared the poster on their respective social media accounts and tagged the cast except for Rhea.

Even director Rumy Jafry did not tag Rhea in his social media post.

This has prompted speculation among netizens that Rhea has been dropped from the project.

If the rumours do turn out to be true, it prompts concern given that the filmmakers have not said anything in relation to Rhea or a potential replacement.

The actress did not feature on Chehre‘s poster in February 2021.

Netizens believe that Rhea was dropped from Chehre in order to prevent the film from facing backlash.

A teaser for the film will be released on March 11, 2021, and it may provide a glimpse of the actress. The film releases on April 30, 2021.

In the film, Amitabh will play a lawyer while Emraan stars as a business tycoon.

Rhea Chakraborty was in the headlines throughout 2020 following the tragic death of her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput.

The actress was accused by Sushant’s family of abetting his suicide.

She denied the accusations but was later accused of procuring drugs for him. She spent nearly one month in prison before being released on bail.

Rumi is a close friend of Rhea’s and said in 2020 that she would make a comeback in films in 2021.

He had said: “The year was distressing for everyone.

“But in Rhea’s case, the trauma was of another level altogether.”

“We can’t even imagine that a girl from a well-to-do middle-class family has to spend a month in jail. That crushed her morale completely. [But] She will get back to work early next year. I met Rhea recently.

“She was quiet and withdrawn and I can’t blame her after what she has gone through.

“Once the dust settles I am sure Rhea has a lot to say.”

Despite the controversy, Rumi had also said that he would definitely sign Rhea for another project.

However, following her snub from all promotional material for Chehre, it will be intriguing to see whether Rhea will actually be in the film after all.
