"They just wanted a picture."
Raveena Tandon was recently in London when she quickly left the scene despite being approached by fans.
The fans were eager to take selfies with the actress, but she panicked and mistakenly denied her identity.
She hurriedly left the scene and asked a security guard for help.
According to Raveena, this response came from a traumatic experience in June 2024.
Previously, the actress faced false accusations related to a car accident in Bandra.
Raveena Tandon and her driver faced a chaotic situation when they were allegedly attacked by a mob after her driver reportedly hit several pedestrians.
Video footage of the incident circulated widely, showing Raveena pleading to them not to hit her.
The Mumbai police later cleared her of any wrongdoing, but the incident left her feeling uneasy in public situations.
Raveena Tandon addressed the incident in London.
She said: “So sorry, guys. I hope you are reading this and know that I shouldn’t have panicked.
“They just wanted a picture, I guess, and I, most of the time oblige.
“But after the incident that happened in Bandra a few months ago, it has left me a bit nervous and traumatised.
“So when I’m with people, I am OK, but alone I still get a bit nervous these days.”
She acknowledged that her experience made her more cautious, especially when alone in unfamiliar settings.
Raveena expressed regret for not taking the selfies, emphasising her desire to be approachable and connect with her supporters.
Despite the challenges she faced, Raveena remained committed to her fans and aimed to foster positive interactions moving forward.
In July 2024, the actress made headlines again when she visited a school as part of a social cause.
Several videos made rounds on social media, including one in which she was spotted giving gifts to the students.
She also signed these gifts before giving them to her young fans.
During the visit, a fan approached Raveena to shake hands with her. Smiling, the actress shook hands with the fan.
However, a fellow team member was seen brushing the fan aside, sparking controversy on social media.
Many questioned why Raveena didn’t intervene or say anything to stop the team member’s ‘rude’ behaviour.
Raveena Tandon was a leading and influential actress in the 1990s.
She appeared in classics including Andaz Apna Apna (1994), Mohra (1994), and Laadla (1994).
