"Happy Birthday to my SHETTY a true goddess!!!!"
Rapper Drake wishes Bollywood Actress Athiya Shetty happy birthday on her 26th Birthday.
The Canadian-Born Musician left a cute yet funny birthday wish on Athiya’s Instagram.
The Mubarakan (2017) star posted a picture of herself cutting a cake, with a birthday hat on.
She wrote: “This one was extra special and happy indeed. Thank you for all the love, wishes and blessings.
“I truly feel so tremendously grateful and special. To my main people, I love you. You know who you are. PS. 26, be kind.”
In response to this, Drake commented on the picture, wishing the star a happy birthday.
He wrote: “Happy Birthday to my SHETTY a true goddess!!!!
“Guess who’s watching Mubarakan 3 times on the tour bus in your honour.”
This isn’t the first time Drake has commented on Athiya’s pictures on Instagram.
Athiya uploaded a childhood picture of she and her father, wishing him a happy birthday.
Drake took the opportunity to comment, merely posting “Legend” under the picture.
Athiya responded to this with “hahaha” and a blue heart emoji.
Actor Varun Dhawan joined in with the interaction and wrote: “Who knew you were Kiki.” in relation to Drake’s hit song ‘In My Feelings’.
In the song, Drake references to a girl called ‘Kiki’ and asks ‘Do you love me?’.
Several rumours were circling about the identity of Kiki, most notably Kim Kardashian West.
In a cheeky reply to Varun Dhawan’s comment, Drake said:
“Titi do you love me? (Mubarakan Remix).”
The rapper then started following Varun Dhawan on Instagram.
Fans responded to the funny interaction, excited about the coming-together of Bollywood and Rap.
One user wrote: “We got it… @athiyashetty is the mysterious Kiki @champagnepapi.”
Whilst another Instagram user commented: “so all this time, IN MY FEELINGS, the latest song by Drake was for you, athiya!”
According to a report by Filmfare, Drake reportedly met Athiya in Los Angeles and found her really pretty.
He spoke to her and the two bonded instantly.
The source told Filmfare that the two are in a long-distance relationship and Athiya is flying to LA to spend time with her rumoured beau.
On the work front, Athiya who is only two films old, is to star in Motichoor Chaknachoor.
The film co-stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
It is directed by Debamitra Hassan, and is a romantic comedy based on an ‘odd couple’.
The film is yet to be given a release date.
As well as celebrating her birthday with family, Athiya also celebrated her birthday on the sets of the film.
The young star was seen cutting two birthday cakes, one cake being made out of Motichoor ladoo.
The cast and crew of the film, including co-star Nawazuddin were on hand to celebrate with the 26-year old.
Athiya starred in Rapper Badshah’s song Tere Naal Nachna from the movie Nawabzaade (2018).
But you never know, she might be starring in another rapper’s music video sometime soon.
Or could Drake be making a cameo in a Bollywood film?
