Ranbir Kapoor Opens Up About his Relationship with Alia Bhatt

The popular 35-year-old actor Ranbir Kapoor has revealed in several interviews much more about his blossoming relationship with the stunning actress Alia Bhatt, 25.

After revealing that himself and his Brahmastra co-star Alia Bhatt had begun dating in May 2018, Kapoor has attempted to keep their romance private.

Recently, the actor has revealed much more about his relationship with Alia. Reports suggest that even Ranbir’s parents, Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, have warmed up to Alia, and are now treating her as part of the family.

Speaking in an interview with the Telegraph, Ranbir finally opened up about Alia. He said:

“She’s a mighty force. At that age, the kind of films she’s done.

“Just a few days back, I was doing a scene with them and it was such a rare opportunity for me as an actor to see these two different kinds of actors — Amitabh Bachchan, the greatest of all, and Alia Bhatt, the potential great of all time.”

He continued:

“Words fall short to understand where her experience has come from, how she’s so spontaneous and colourful. I see that she’s extremely disciplined, but extremely blessed and talented also.”

The two actors are currently working together on the supernatural fantasy Ayan Mukerji. Before now Ranbir has seemed hesitant to speak about his new relationship with Alia.

In a previous interview with GQ, the actor kept his cards close to his chest, but he did reveal how admirably he viewed her as an actor. Speaking about Alia, he said:

“It’s really new right now, and I don’t want to over speak. It needs time to breathe and it needs space. As an actor, as a person, Alia is – what’s the right word? – flowing right now.”

He added:

“I think I’m more balanced today. I value relationships more. I can appreciate hurt and what it does to a person much more than I could a couple years back.”

Ranbir is well-known for his love-life which often becomes a topic of conversation in the public domain. Due to the rumours and gossip that can surround his romances Ranbir tends to keep that side of his life hidden away. The actor said:

“It comes from a place of just giving the relationship some dignity and respect. I have been privy to a lot of stupid gossip and conjecture and sometimes it causes a lot of misunderstandings, not just between the people involved, but also with your fans and the kind of perception people might have of you.

“It used to bother me before but I’ve realised it’s all part and parcel of show business. If people are interested in my life they’ll write about it, and if I’m not speaking about it, they’ll write even more, some of it true and some of it untrue.”

According to India Today, Ranbir explained why he likes to keep his personal life as private as he can. During an interaction with trade analyst Girish Johar, Ranbir said:

“I only talk when I’m promoting a film. But if I’m in a relationship at that point and someone asks me, of course, I’ll address it. Sometimes, you and your partner decide not to talk about it and sometimes you’re okay because there’s nothing to be shy about or hide.

“Of course, we don’t want to make a mockery of it and make it a reality show, but just to put things in perspective and that this is happening – respect my privacy and respect the fact that I’m sharing this with you.”

Whilst Ranbir Kapoor is focused on his acting work right now, he has also expressed a desire to settle down and have a family. Whether this is to do with his new relationship with Alia or has always been what the actor wants remains to be seen. The actor said:

“Tomorrow, I may reach different heights of superstardom or might end up as a big failure, but that should not matter to me. What should matter are the relationships I’ve built in life – I also want to get married and have my own tribe. So it comes from that place of giving it dignity.”

Whilst in the past, Ranbir has been hit with an array of cheating allegations, it seems he may be smitten with Alia.

However, sources indicate that Kapoor’s ex-girlfriend and actress Katrina Kaif is allegedly unsure whether their relationship will last.

The two began dating in 2009 after meeting on the set of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. A source close to Kaif told a leading Indian media outlet:

“Katrina knows exactly how it is going to end for Alia. She has been there, seen it all. But it’s not Katrina’s nature to poke her nose in others affairs.”

However, the couple seems happy enough. There are even reported rumours of a possible wedding between the two actors in a few years time.

Whilst we’re not sure if we will hear wedding bells quite yet for this couple, Ranbir’s choice to open up to the media about their relationship seems wholly positive.

The next big film release for Ranbir will be his role in the much-anticipated biopic of Sanjay Dutt, Sanju, which will be released on 29th June 2018.
