It has been reported that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt could potentially get married during April 2022.
Rumours surrounding their wedding have been ongoing for some time.
It is now believed that their marriage could happen as soon as the second week of April.
A source close to both families said:
“Alia’s maternal grandfather Narendra Nath Razdan is in a fragile physical condition and he expressed his desire to see Alia get married to Ranbir.
“Mr Razdan has also grown quite fond of Ranbir and loves him a lot.”
The source went on to say that while a final date has not been confirmed but as things stand, Ranbir and Alia are planning to get married on April 17.
However, this date could be adjusted by a day or two, depending on Alia’s grandfather’s health.
Many reports have suggested that celebrity mehendi expert Veena Nagda will be hired for the wedding.
But she stated that she has not been contacted by the couple for an April event.
“Nobody has contacted me yet. I met Alia a couple of days back but no mention of a wedding from her either.
“If the wedding is indeed happening this month, then it’s really going to be short notice for me.”
The source claimed that the marriage will be a private family affair, with the event lasting a maximum of two days.
It is reported that both Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are arranging their wedding out of the ancestral RK House in Chembur, where the function is believed to be taking place.
They are apparently working out the availability of family members.
The source added: “This function does not need to be an extravagant affair because for both families, Ranbir and Alia have been as good as married already.
“This is a small get-together and celebration to fulfill the wish of Alia’s grandfather.”
Despite the speculation, another report suggests that Ranbir and Alia will actually be having a formal engagement celebration in April and that the wedding will take place in December 2022.
On the wedding reports, Ranbir’s uncle Randhir stated that he has not heard anything about a wedding, saying:
“I’m not in Mumbai right now, and I haven’t heard anything about the wedding.
“If such a big wedding was happening at our house, somebody would have surely called me up and informed me.”
