Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma came under fire for his controversial post about Kiara Advani’s bikini look.
The War 2 teaser was released on May 20, 2025, and while it showed high-octane action sequences and tense face-offs between Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, that didn’t receive a lot of attention.
The most talked-about moment was a brief scene featuring Kiara Advani wearing a golden bikini.
For a few seconds, Kiara was seen walking among a picturesque setting, wearing the two-piece.
Her toned figure and glowing presence sparked widespread admiration, with many fans saying Kiara stole the show in the teaser.
Karan Johar was left impressed and shared a shot of Kiara, saying:
“Can we take a moment to say how HOT @kiaraaliaadvani is looking in War 2!!!!”
However, Ram Gopal Varma sparked backlash with his tweet about Kiara.
Sharing an image of the bikini-clad Kiara’s back to the camera, Ram referenced the actress’ body and appeared to objectify her.
He tweeted: “Instead of our countries and societies, if the war between Hrithik and Jr NTR is on who gets her BACK, then 2 will be a BACKbuster.”
In another post, Ram shared the same picture and wrote:
“Will take a long time to come to the front of the WAR.”
On social media, users hit out at the filmmaker for his vulgar comments.
One wrote: “What the actual f**k.”
Another added: “And this is what he is uttering publicly… Can you imagine what he is like in private?”
Some referred to the director’s past behaviour.
One posted: “He lost it many many years ago.”
Another said: “This man has straight up gone to down bad sleazy levels.”
A comment read:
“This is just RGV. He’s always been an absolute creepazoid.”
One person mentioned a 2022 interview where Ram kissed and caressed Ashu Reddy’s feet:
“I saw him licking another actress’ feet live on an interview. I’m still surprised that he doesn’t have any MeToo cases on him.”
As the backlash gained traction, Ram eventually deleted the tweets but did not respond to the criticism.
Meanwhile, Kiara Advani shared her excitement about War 2 in an Instagram Story.
She wrote: “Lots of firsts in this. First YRF film. First action film. First with these two amazing heroes. First collaboration with Ayan [Mukerji]. And of course, first bikini shot.”
