they also ran off with the main iron gate
In a brazen and meticulously executed heist, thieves in Pakistan stole an entire mobile phone tower.
The incident happened in a village in Naudero, which is a suburban area of Larkana.
The tower, which belonged to a private mobile company, was dismantled.
The theft was carried out with immense precision. Thieves used cutters to disassemble the mobile phone tower and made sure that no parts were left behind.
Along with the tower, they also ran off with the main iron gate and other installations.
The elaborate nature of the theft suggests a high level of organisation and planning.
The private company had deployed two security guards to safeguard the tower.
But surprisingly, the company has filed a case of theft against these guards at the Naudero Police Station.
The complaint was lodged by the company’s general manager, Sajid Iqbal.
Iqbal’s complaint provided a detailed account of how the theft was discovered.
He explained that the company first became aware of the incident through numerous customer complaints about disrupted mobile signals.
Iqbal stated: “When our staff arrived at the tower site to resolve the technical issues, they were shocked to discover that the entire tower, along with other installations, had been stolen.”
The local police have launched a thorough investigation into the incident.
Authorities are exploring the possibility that the thieves had inside information to carry out such a large-scale theft.
This audacious theft has raised concerns about the security of critical infrastructure in the area.
The police are gathering evidence to piece together how the heist was carried out and to identify those responsible.
The theft of the mobile tower has significant implications for the local community, with a disruption in mobile services affecting both personal and business communications.
The mobile company is working to restore services as quickly as possible.
On social media, a user wrote: “Only in Pakistan.”
Another asked: “What will they even do with the mobile tower?”
One said:
“They will not leave anything. Everything of even slight value will be stolen and sold for parts.”
Another added: “This is the situation of the whole interior. Nothing is safe here.”
One stated: “If something like this can be stolen, anything can be stolen.”
Another questioned: “How do you even steal a whole tower?”
One said: “This is the result of unemployment.”
Two people have since been arrested and part of the tower has been recovered.
