Pakistani News Channel use actor Aamir Khan’s photo for Accused Murderer f

"Didn’t know Indian actor Amir Khan was in Pakistan"

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s photograph was mistakenly used to name a murderer by a Pakistani news channel which was heavily ridiculed.

The news story was about an accused killer named Amir Khan, however, the Bollywood actors photo was being used.

Amir Khan is a Pakistani politician who is the leader of the Haqiqi party which is the breakaway faction of Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

Bringing it to social media attention, journalist Naila Inayat shared a screenshot of the channel’s mistake. Taking to Twitter, Inayat tweeted:

“Headline: After 17 years MQM leader Amir Khan exonerated in a murder case. Didn’t know Indian actor Amir Khan was in Pakistan for the last 17 years..”

Many Twitter users condemned the channel for making such a grave mistake, while others looked to the humorous side of the matter.

One user said: “Not sure about 17 years & physically but for 55 yrs surely mentally and by heart!!”

Trisha commented with several laughing face emojis followed by, “Remember his Wife suggested moving out of India.”

Shivakshi said: “His soul was there ..” followed by smiling face emojis.

Soon after realising their mistake, the news channel corrected their error. Despite this, screenshots of the mistake were going viral on social media.

On the work front, Bollywood star Aamir Khan was shooting for his upcoming film, Laal Singh Chaddha (2020).

However, due to the coronavirus lockdown, filming has come to a standstill until further notice.

Laal Singh Chaddha (2020) is the official Bollywood remake of the 1994 American comedy-drama film Forrest Grump.

The Bollywood remake also features Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead role. The film revolves around Aamir Khan’s character as he plays a Sikh man on a cross-country journey.

Speaking to Hindustan Times about his character, Aamir said:

“This character is very loveable. He’s so innocent… he has got this different way of look at things. He’s someone you immediately empathise with when you connect.

“Unless I perform it badly, then it’s a different game. As a written character, it’s such that you’d fall in love with him straightaway.”

Aamir was last seen on the big screen in 2018 with the film, Thugs of Hindostan. However, it failed to impress at the box office.

Aamir Khan continued to apologise to his fans because of the failure of the film. He said:

“I felt emotionally that I should address it and apologise to people for not living up to the expectations.”

It is safe to say, Aamir Khan is not an accused killer rather he is still the perfectionist of Bollywood.
