This incident is part of a troubling trend, as cases of sexual violence continue to rise in Pakistan.
The recent gang rape of a child follows the tragic case of seven-year-old Sarim, who was raped and murdered, shocking the nation.
Investigators are still working to gather DNA evidence from Sarim’s case, but prolonged exposure to water has complicated efforts to extract clear results.
Authorities are conducting forensic analysis on Sarim’s clothing in hopes of finding viable DNA traces.
Meanwhile, police have collected evidence from the residence and mobile phone of the child’s tutor, who is currently under investigation.
The presence of certain medications and inappropriate videos in the tutor’s room has raised further concerns.
According to reports, the videos were allegedly recorded by the tutor himself.
In another troubling incident, two friends lured a tailor-master to a graveyard in the Karampur area of Mailsi tehsil.
There, they assaulted him after tying him up.
The attackers not only assaulted him but also shaved his eyebrows and moustache.
They recorded the attack and threatened him with dire consequences if he told anyone about the incident.
These cases have sparked outrage and fear among communities, with many calling for stronger measures to protect children and vulnerable individuals.
A user said: “In our country, there can be jail for speaking against Maryam Nawaz, but if such a big accident happens to someone, no one will ask.”
Another wrote: “This is the obnoxious and ugly picture of our society. Where individuals are powerful and institutions are pathetic.
“Change of mindset in such an imposed environment seems almost impossible.”
One commented: “Every day we hear news about rape cases but the culprits are not held accountable by police.”
Another noted: “This is the 7th rape case in Bahawalpur alone that I’ve heard of recently.”
As further investigations continue into the egg seller rape case, the public remains hopeful for justice.
