Pakistani actress and model Humaira Asghar Ali was found dead in her apartment in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority.

The discovery was made on July 8, 2025, when local police arrived to enforce a court-ordered eviction notice, following months of unpaid rent.

Officers from Gizri Police Station broke down the door after receiving no response from inside. Her body was found lying within the flat.

Humaira had reportedly not paid her rent since 2024, prompting legal action from her landlord.

The flat was completely locked from the inside, including the balcony door.

There were no signs of forced entry, and police have ruled out foul play at this point.

Neighbours had not seen her for several weeks. They had noticed a foul smell from her flat, which only added to their growing concern.

Police now believe she may have died nearly two weeks before her body was found.

South Karachi police chief Syed Asad Raza confirmed that the condition of the doors suggested no external involvement.

He added that the police are using mobile phone records to trace her family or any close contacts.

The body was transported to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for examination.

Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed, who oversaw the postmortem, confirmed the body was in an advanced stage of decomposition.

Due to this, she stated the cause of death could not be determined immediately.

Dr Syed further explained that forensic and toxicology reports would be necessary to draw any conclusions.

For now, the cause of death remains officially “reserved”.

Humaira Asghar Ali lived alone and had reportedly maintained a low profile in recent months.

Her absence from public events and work had gone largely unnoticed.

It wasn’t until the eviction process began that authorities and neighbours realised something was wrong.

The news of her death has left both fans and industry colleagues deeply shocked.

Humayun Saeed expressed sorrow on Instagram, offering prayers and condolences to her loved ones.

Atiqa Odho, her co-star from the drama Ehsaan Faramosh, called her a “gentle soul”, emphasising how heartbreaking it was to lose someone so quietly and urged authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly.

Faysal Quraishi used his platform to ask followers to check in on people who live alone.

Hina Altaf shared a moving message about unnoticed pain and silent battles. She encouraged others to reach out even when friends don’t ask for help.

Zoheb Hassan pointed out that this is not the first time a woman has died alone in her Karachi flat.

The case is similar to the recent solitary death of veteran actress Ayesha Khan.

Mawra Hocane, Sadaf Kanwal, Ali Rahman Khan, Madiha Imam, and Ahmed Ali Butt also mourned the loss.

Each remembered Humaira Asghar as kind, warm, and professional.
