The initial reports suggested she died nearly two weeks before her body was found in her Karachi flat.
However, new findings suggest she actually died nine months ago.
Her decayed body was discovered under mysterious circumstances.
Dr Summaiya Syed, the police surgeon who examined her remains, confirmed the body was in an advanced stage of decomposition. Key skeletal joints had deteriorated.
Even parts of the body that typically resist early decay, like the back of the skull, had broken down. One of her hands had detached completely.
These findings strongly indicate that she likely passed away around September or October 2024, far earlier than originally believed.
According to crime journalist Iqrar ul Hassan, phone records and neighbours support that timeline. Her last known call was in September 2024.
She was reportedly seen at events around the same time. After that, there were no interactions, no outreach from colleagues, friends, or family.
When police entered her home, they found no evidence of drugs or foul play. But the food had all expired by October 2024.

Until then, the Sindh culture department had offered to arrange her burial if no one stepped forward.
The police confirmed the remains were handed over to the brother.
