“We are absolutely thrilled, to be honest."
Patralekhaa proudly showed off her baby bump as she and husband Rajkummar Rao stepped out for the first time since announcing they’re expecting their first child.
The actor couple, known for keeping their private life low-key, looked radiant as they appeared hand-in-hand, both dressed in sharp suits.
Patralekhaa wore a brown suit that subtly showcased her growing bump. She smiled widely for cameras, her pregnancy glow unmistakable.
Rajkummar stood beside her in a grey suit, visibly elated.
The appearance came just a day after the couple shared the news on Instagram with a simple yet touching post.
The image featured a cradle surrounded by leaves and flowers, with the words: “Baby on the way” and their names below. They captioned it: “Elated.”
Industry friends and fans flooded the comments with congratulations.
Farah Khan wrote: “Finally the news is out!! I was having a tough time keeping it to myself… congratulations.”
Sonam Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Esha Gupta, Dia Mirza, Pulkit Samrat, Manushi Chhillar and Neha Dhupia also sent their love.
Rajkummar opened up about the joy of impending fatherhood:
“We are absolutely thrilled, to be honest.
“We feel like a lot of our friends, who are parents have been telling us, that this is going to be the best phase of your life. So, we are looking forward to it. And, it’s still sinking in.”
He reflected on their long-standing relationship and how this new chapter feels both familiar and surreal:
“Every day is a new day. We have known each other for 15 years. We have grown up together. So, we are still sometimes like, ‘What, actually, this is happening. We’re going to be parents’.
“That being said, it is a beautiful feeling.”

Rajkummar Rao also revealed that they recently took their first trip with their baby on board while supporting the #BeyondTheFilter campaign by Tourism New Zealand.
He said:
“Apart from just being us, it was our first trip with the upcoming member of our family. And that is what makes it really special.”
Describing the journey as more reflective than their past travels, Rajkummar added:
“We have travelled so much in the past, but for the first time, it was more about an internal travel for us. Like just being there with each other.
“Quietly sitting for hours and soaking in the beauty around us.
“Otherwise, you are always in a rush. We always plan so much that ‘I’m gonna do this, I’m gonna do that’. But this time, it was more about soaking in and being with each other.”
